Hi, we are staying on site at Disney for the first time this summer and have opted for the Dolphin.

So the first of many questions over the next few months.....

Where is the best place to get breakfast? Picabo?

Does Broadwalk have anywhere for Breakfast or can anyone recommend a breakfast in any of the parks?

At the Dolphin we used to go to Tubbie's (now Picabo I think) have not been back since Tubbie's was replaced so I do not know?

On the Boardwalk there is spoodle's which I've heard good things about.

In the parks it depends what you are looking for? We like to have a day at MK where we eat breakfast at the bakery (Same at MGM) - But you will only get the Sweets here - maybe yogurt?

In the parks there are lots of charactyer dining experiences - but you must plan well in advance for those.

You will like the Dolphin - best beds anywhere on Disney property!

We just returned from Swan/Dolphin last night. You also have the option of Fresh at the Dolphin. The adult price is $17.95 for what is essentially a cook-to-order buffet. And Gulliver's at the Swan has breakfast, turns into a character breakfast on the weekends.

We ended up having a couple of breakfasts at Picabus and it was very nice, pleasant dining area, tables frequently bussed, etc. I'm not a big breakfast eater so it seemed silly to spend the $$ at Fresh. Picabus is cafeteria style, everything you would want for breakfast from a croissant to full blown eggs & hash. Starbucks coffee.

We love Picabu's (well, it was Tubbi's when we went) for breakfast. We got an egg mcmuffin kind of thing that's huge. DD and I liked to split one for breakfast. They also had cereal, yogurt, fruit, bagels, and hot breakfast items available. I usually run down while dd is still getting ready (teenagers!) so we can eat before hitting the parks. We like something fast in the morning so we never hit Fresh for breakfast.

One of my favorite S/D things is their room service. :thumbsup2 The food is awesome and comes to you quickly (usually).

Just giving you another idea. :)

Enjoy,

We stayed at the Dolphin last summer and ate at Picabu's mostly. The food is good, however a bit pricey. We also ordered room service one morning (not worth the high bill, better down at Picabu) and we ate at Gullivers in the Swan (the best breakfast I had all week!) and it was pretty reasonable. You also have the option of grabbing a quick breakfast (bagel, muffin, coffee, tea, fruit) at the lobby bar in the Dolphin.

I highly recommend Cabana Bar & Grill for lunch, we ate there almost every day! They open 11am, so if you sleep in and aren't very hungry, you can also eat there. :thumbsup2

Fresh has an outstanding Sunday Brunch. If breakfast is anything at all like that, it would be hard to beat. Probably pricey, but good.

Hmmmm....I have always been really impressed with their room service. We were really disappointed in the Cabana Bar & Grill as a matter of fact (May 05, though) Watered down drinks and blah sandwiches. :confused3 I haven't stayed at the S/D since May 05, though, so maybe things changed.

Had a VERY tasty rum punch at the Cabana Bar this weekend. Slightly off the breakfast discussion :) , but it wasn't watered down at all!

I'll second that! We've had room service breakfast several times now and it's always excellent!

We ordered room service at the Dolphin and it was delicious!

Thanks everyone.

I found the menu's for Picabu etc and it all looks pretty good. (And should be cheap for us with the current £/$ rate!!!)

Changing the subject slightly....how about evening meals at the Dolphin/Swan/Braodwalk?

And more importantly...nightly drinks and cocktails!!!!

A good website to find the menus at WDW is at

allears.com

My birthday is while we are at the world ..I plan on resort hoping and having a drink and maybe some appetizzer or two. Plus we will get to see the resorts!
