We are booked at Hilton Lake Buena Vista Palace since there were no other options for when my mom and I go after Easter. Hoping for it to be a comfortable stay. Can anyone tell me if there are any 8am breakfast options at the hotel or within walking distance? I tried to book a reservation at the on-site restaurant Letterhead, but it was fully booked. Do they have a buffet that falls outside of the standard reservation? Do you need a reservation for the buffet, if there is one? Any idea about cost? It is complete chaos? Since we are going during major peak season, I'm trying to make the process as smooth as possible.

There probably aren't going to be many people here who will have accurate information. The on-site restaurant is only a few months old, as it didn't exist prior to the recent renovation. According to the hotel website, there is no buffet.

My advice would be to call the hotel during normal business hours. The best time to call would be mid-day, as that is when it will be quietest. Ask to be transferred to the restaurant. They will provide the best information.

Depending on what you consider to be "walking distance", you can walk to the Marketplace area of Disney Springs. Both Earl of Sandwich and Wolfgang Puck Express serve breakfast. They are fast-casual dining, so you order and the counter and get your food once it is made. Personally, I think Wolfgang Puck Express is far better than the Earl. The normal opening time for both restaurants is 9am. However, on a busy week around Easter, I wouldn't be surprised if they opened sooner.

From the main lobby of the Hilton Buena Vista Palace, it's about 2,000 feet (0.37 miles) to those restaurants. That's roughly 8-10 minutes.

This is a recycled graphic I created for an older thread.

To get to Disney Springs, you can't cross the street. You have to go all the way to the pedestrian bridge. You can see Earl of Sandwich on the map. Wolfgang Puck Express is the next building to the left, where the fork/knife icon is shown.

Thank you so much!! I appreciate your extensive response! I did end up calling yesterday and they did tell me there is now a morning buffet at Letterpress and it is very large with a lot of seating. It is $20-$22 (something like that) which is crazy expensive, but since we are hoping to just eat 2 meals that day, it might be ok to splurge. Or we will walk over to Disney Springs. Also, the map is super helpful since I had heard you needed to use the bridge but wasn't sure where it was.

I'll be sure to report back on our trip! We always stay on-site, but since this is a last minute trip to see family in The Villages and are squeezing in a day at EPCOT, the only thing left within our budget was the Palace. We also felt since it will be extra busy, that staying near Disney Springs allows us to really be in the Disney spirit as much as we can.

boy you are good - it has been years since I visited DS - so if you park across the street (not in the hotels) - but in the extra parking - can you still walk across the street or do you have to go to the bridge also?

The main entrance off E Buena Vista Drive is right at the left side of the aerial image. That same little intersection is also one of the secondary entrances to Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort. There is a guard shack right there. I do recall seeing Disney Security stop people from trying to cross the street.

Right above the restaurants, you can see the old bus loop. That entrance is also guarded by Disney Security. They will stop you from crossing and direct you to the pedestrian bridge. So, there's really no way to cross E Buena Vista Drive at ground level.

Finally, that small parking lot between letters D and E is only for Cast Members. It is gated, so you can not park there.

If you're not staying at one of the Disney Springs Hotels, just follow the signs to one of the parking garages at Disney Springs.
