First of all can I say that these forums (fora??) have been invaluable in the planning of my first trip to DLP - thanks to everyone.

Here is my query if anyone can help - Leaving in 12 days and have booked a family room in DLH. With the EMH is it a good plan to breakfast at 7.30am before heading into parks OR do the early visit and then return for breakfast? Have read some conflicting reviews about 'breakfast scrum'. Whilst I enjoy the occasional scrum myself the kids 4 and 9 years old may not and I would like to have a stress free morning munch.

First of all, welcome!! :cutie:

Breakfast in the DLH is anything but a scrum! You'll have a wonderful time there.

There are no allocated 'slots' in the DLH unlike the other hotels in the resort. Also, both restaurant areas are open (Inventions and California Grill) to maximise seating... I've never experienced any problems no matter what time I've gone for breakfast at the DLH!

Enjoy! :thumbsup2

Agreed, it is the least scrum like (well the HNY is not scrum like either). But the rule of thumb at DLP - if you have the very first breakfast, you will likely have the most civilised breakfast.

Thanks. Head is bursting with all the information available here. This may free up some space for a little bit more!!

Hi dpleith :welcome: to the Disneyland Paris Trip Planning & Community Board.

Hoping you'll have lots of fun on here    please join in with any thread or if you have any questions please start a new one of your own.

If you haven't had a look yet, the DLP DISboard posting rules are here and the DIS posting guidelines can be found here. :)

Now I would say EMH first, breakfast afterwards! I don't know if it would always be the case, but on our last morning when we had to be at breakfast as soon as it opened, we found we did more queueing than when we went in after EMH. Having said that, we didn't queue for long, and it certainly wasn't a scrum!

I definitely don't get the full benefit of such a delicious breakfast when I've just woken up and then know I have to be somewhere for a certain time. Going after EMH meant we were nice and hungry and then enjoyed a leisurely breakfast until we felt like leaving - or they wanted us out!!

quick question, will you be flying from edinburgh? we're are planning on flying from there, would love to hear how you get on with the flight and transfers from the airport. as thats the only thing that im not too sure off at the mo.

I'd agree that going for EMH first and then back for breakfast is ideal at DLH. You'll get everything done in about an hour or so for EMH and breakfast will still be lovely, no matter what time.

That's the beauty of DLH location - you're simply nipping into the hotel and then back out in the park within minutes.

Hope you have a fab time :thumbsup2

Thanks to all who replied - very helpful as usual.

Travelling from Edinburgh using Easyjet and have arranged Ezyshuttle to pick us up after the glowing reports read here.

I also agree that doing EMH for an hour and then back for breakfast is the best way.
If I to eat at 7.30 before going into the parks I wouldnt be able to face the food whereas by going in at 9.30 Ive built up an appetite and really enjoy the meal. Its nice to linger over yet another cuppa especially if you have a window seat as you can people watch.

It also meant we didnt need lunch as we had filled up on breakfast - just a small snack mid afternoon before an earlyish dinner.

You will get a lot more done in that first hour of EMH as well

We stayed at the DLH last week and did it the other way round by eating at 7.30 and the heading to park at about 8.30. This still gave us plenty of time to do all the EMH rides. It certainly wasn't a scrum at that time - busy but no need to queue at all.

The breakfast there is great with loads of choice. And remember, they do tea, coffee AND hot chocolate, which I didn't realise on our first day!

We have always had a lovey breckfast at the dlh @ 7.30 and we are still in the park by 8am:scared1: as my DS is nagging me to hurry up.

Hi there - we are just back - if you look at my trip report luxury on a budget it might help - we also stayed at DLH in a family room! We found the early breakfast was fine, not scrum like at all, but busier from 7.45am onwards. Later breakfast, which we did on the last day, was more hectic to get into (they were using an 'overflow' room, and then later closed down parts of the restaurant) and we had a queue for a table - but once in it was fine. We did notice a real cultural difference - early mornings tend to be full of Brits, all pepped up and ready to go, whereas the later ones were packed with the Spanish being much more chilled! You will have a brilliant time.
