Our annual WDW vacation is drawing near. This year we upgraded from the moderates to the Boardwalk. We are very excited and have heard nothing but great things. What I am trying to find out is where we can get breakfast? I see the bakery is close by, but if the kids want Mickey waffles (and they will), where is the best/closest place to go?

If you are talking about CS locations, there are none that serve Mickey waffles in the Boardwalk area that I know of.

There are numerous TS breakfast locations (not sure which may/may not have Mickey waffles) around the Boardwalk, Yacht & Beach Club, both buffets (one w/characters) and not.

You'll probably have to go to Kouzzina to get Mickey waffles. Boardwalk and Yacht and Beach club don't have the traditional QS options(bounty platter, Mickey waffles, etc) that the other resorts have. That's the only downside I find of staying there.

The Belle Vue Lounge, the bar area near the lobby at the BWI, serves pastries and coffee in the morning. We discovered this during our visit last year and we loved it. It's everything we wanted for breakfast.

All I can think of for Mickey waffles is Cape May breakfast buffets in the Beach Club. You could use the International Gateway to walk to Sunshine Seasons in Future World and get some.

They have Mickey waffles on the breakfast buffet at Captain's Grille at YC. It's one of WDW's best kept secrets, we have breakfast there every trip. They also have an ala carte menu if you don't want the buffet.

Will add to the idea of Captains Grill, though you could check about Kouzzina's since it is right outside the hotel. I hope you enjoy the Boardwalk, we really love it, and love to soak up/in the evening stroll or bike ride and see the performers on the Boardwalk.

Kouzzina does have any amazing waffle with mascarpone cheese and nuts on it - I didn't miss the Mickey ears! LOL. That's on the regular (non-kids) menu, I don't know what they have for the kids, I can't remember.

If it works with your schedule, I would definitely make a breakfast reservation there. Great press pot of coffee as well.

Thanks to everyone for their replies. It looks like a slight modification in morning rituals is in order. How are the lines at the bakery and sit downs in the AM?

Lines at the bakery usually the longest 8:15 to 8:45, but worth the wait! If you are earlier, it is not bad at all. And if the kids are looking for Mickey things, they have numerous items that are very Disney themed that they would enjoy. We love the bakery, just the smell of it all is wonderful and makes whatever wait in line, enjoyable. Just in case, bring a coffee with you to help pass the time. The fresh breakfast sandwiches they make are delicious, and any of the pastry items are enjoyable.

the bakery lines can get REALLY long (the place is very small, so there seems to be a line all the time:thumbsup2), but it does move fairly quickly. they have some delicious fresh-baked goodies, and those yummy scents waft around the BW, drawing everyone in :cloud9:

i would make ADRs for kouzzina's.....we have been able to get a "stand by" table fairly often, but it does involve a longer wait. they do have some very interesting (and tasty) menu options if you have any adventurous eaters :thumbsup2

you are going to LOVE the BW!!

The Bellevue Lounge serves a mostly continental breakfast but IIRC Mickey waffles were offered when we stayed at BWV in May. Have fun.

boadwalk dosn't have a rest for breasfast. Go to swan for a nice buffet or a a carte. the dophin a ittle more of cost. YC gallley also buffet or a la carte. Mickey waffles are at SWan or YC. I believ BC is close for breasfast right now working on it. i love Mickey waffles.

Actually, the BWI does offer a restaurant for breakfast-- Kouzzina. We have yet to try it, but it is apparently quite popular for breakfast.
