We are a large family looking to save some money by eating breakfast in the room. It is our 1st trip. I am looking for ideas if anyone has them for snacks? Someone had posted some ideas a few months ago. I thought that I saved them but I cannot find them.

we stop at the supermarket and buy a disposable cooler. We buy ziplock baggies, bagels, cream cheese, bottled water, soda & any else we see. We fill up the bags with ice from hotel ice machine every morning and it seems to work just fine.

We do granola bars, dried cereal which I put in baggies and take in the park because often in the excitement some kids don't eat. Also, for my DH and myself I've done quiche sometimes which can be heated up by the slice in a micro. Of course take the OJ and milk. We drive so we take our cooler with us. I'm big on grapes, banannas and apples.

Here are my snack ideas. (some of these will depend if you have a room with a fridge /microwave)

dry cereal (individual boxes)
trail mix
cereal bars
tortilla (with pb and j) trust me their good
pudding cups
fruit cups
raisins
craisins (dried cranberries)
bananas
grapes
apples
oranges
juice boxes (a must)
beef jerky
microwave popcorn
easy mac
cheese and cracker (the individual ones with the cheese spread)
ritz cracker snacks
bagels and cream cheese
animal crackers
rice krispie squares(individually wrapped)
tuna and crackers (they have these in individual snack sizes by clover leaf)
bits n bites
pretzels
hot chocalate mix

Remember your Ziploc bags there a must!!!

I hope this will help.

We used a cooler in the room for milk, yogurt, cheese, juice. For breakfast we chose from: cereal with milk, yogurt, poptarts, granola or cereal bars, fresh fruit, single serving applesauce or fruit cups, juice. For snacks and/or lunch at the parks we carried: apples, oranges, carrot sticks, raisins, dried apricots, foil pouches of tuna (chunk chicken is available like this now, but I haven’t tried that), peanut butter, aerosol cheese (I had never used this before, but it was pretty good and needed no refrigeration), pocket bread, triscuits, wheat thins granola and cereal bars, Chex “morning mix”, rice krispies treats, single serving applesauce, fruit cups and pudding cups peanut M&Ms, juice boxes, packages of cheese/peanut butter crackers assorted cheese/cracker and cookies packages, and Frito-Lay “snacks to go” (these are chips or other salty snacks in a plastic container, about the size of a pringles can, with a recloseable snap on lid….the chips don’t get crushed in your backpack), candy, nuts.

 There are sooooo many people who pack snacks/food to take to the parks, don't you think Disney would get the hint by now? LOWER YOUR PRICES ON FOOD!!! I guess they make so much money they don't care. And there are plenty of people who don't care what they pay, but you would think Disney would consider the money they loose by all the peope who bring their own food. I really feel bad for the people with alot of children who have struggled just to have a chance to take their kids to WDW and then on top of that to have to pay high prices to feed a big family.

I will get off my soap box now. :(

Last time we went we brought a toaster oven/broiler for the room. For breakfast we did bagels, toast, etc. We also bought individual pizzas & had them for lunch or a lite dinner if we weren't very hungry. Also good for making toasted cheese sandwiches. Of course you will also need a cooler or a fridge which we also had.

If you are driving then transporting the toaster oven is no problem. If you are flying you can either stick it in a large suitcase or just ship it through luggage. You could also buy a very cheap one when you get there. Even if you have to do that I feel that the savings outweighs the cost of having to eat every meal out.

Every penny saved on a current trip is another one towards the next trip!!
