If you have a break between your wedding and dessert party, do your guests have to meet up at a specific location and get rented Disney transportation or can they all meet up at your Dessert Party location in Epcot at their own convenience? I know that the bride has to be brought there using rented Disney transportation , but I wasn't sure if the guests had to be brought there by rented Disney transportation, too. Hopefully, I'm making sense!!

Our reception ended around 4pm. The bus returned the guests to the hotel. A few hours later (700pm I believe) the bus went to the 3 hotels where I had guests staying and picked us all up. I did have 2 guests that walked in because they went to EPCOT after the wedding (they were AP holders).

Keep in mind the guests that walk in are going to need tickets for admission.

You can do it several ways:

1) You can have everyone meet at the International Gateway, including the bride, and walk in with the DFTW escort.

2) You can have a one-way or roundtrip bus pick everyone up in one place - like a hotel - and bring them in.

3) You can have a charter bus go 'round to everyone's hotel and pick them up and bring them in.

Charter buses are more expensive than one-way/roundtrip buses, and you have to hire them for a minimum of 5 hours at $89/hour. This is my biggest problem with DFTW right now...grumble...grumble...

I haven't heard of this one-way/roundtrip bus. Do you know anything else about this option? We have finally given in and agreed to use a "mini-bus" for our DP. I do not want to because it's a waste of money. We and most of our people are staying at the Boardwalk. We can easily walk to the International Gateway, but that was discouraged. We are walking *after* the DP back to BWI but using the charter to get in.

Tell me about! Just about everything we wanted to do was discouraged! I think you should press for being able to walk in from International Gateway - APrincess72 had an Escape wedding, and they let her do it and wear her dress too!

I'm having a Wishes wedding, and the way it was explained to me, it costs less to have a bus pick everyone up at one place and drop them off than to charter a bus to pick everyone up at their individual resorts. I believe they called it a one-way or roundtrip bus, vs. the charter bus. Maybe it's only for Wishes weddings, but I don't see why they should restrict it!

As far as I know, it all comes down to whether or not you want to wear your wedding attire or not. All our guests went back to our hotel rooms and changed out of our wedding wear after our lunch reception. We gave them the time and location of the dessert party and everyone eventually made their way to Epcot in the late afternoon and we all met at the dessert party location in the evening.

If you want to wear your wedding attire, you can arrange for the chartered buses to bring you and all your guests in through the back. We didn't feel it necessary to pay the $500 or whatever it was for the bus for only 13 of us, plus I think my poor husband would have died of heat exhaustion if he had to be in that tuxedo any longer.
