I have No idea what it was called
or how it was made
but it was so good

a breakfast meal and the girl said she soaked it over night
and than baked it
it had all sorts of yummy things like sausage and cheese
but I can't get ahold of the girl who made it

any ideas what it might have been ??????????

It's a breakfast casserole and sooo easy to make. I will look for the recipe and post it tomorrow.

The following recipe is a family favorite. :thumbsup2 It can be found at www.pbs.org/everydayfood

Canadian Bacon Strata

Ingredients:
Softened butter for pan
4 English muffins, split, toasted, and cut in half
½ pound sliced Canadian bacon, about 10 slices, halved
1 ¼ cups (5 ounces) shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/3 cup finely shredded Parmesan cheese
8 large eggs
3 cups milk
1 ½ tablespoons Dijon mustard
Coarse salt and ground pepper
¼ teaspoon hot sauce, such as Tabasco

This savory breakfast pudding can be prepared the night before through step 2 and baked the next morning. Let the strata chill 2 hours, and it will be nice and moist. If you leave it overnight in the refrigerator, it will be even more custardy.

1. Butter a 2-quart shallow baking dish (oval or square); set aside. In dish, alternately arrange, cut side down, muffin halves and Canadian bacon. Sprinkle with cheddar and Parmesan cheeses. Set aside.
2. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, mustard, ½ teaspoon salt, a pinch of pepper, and hot sauce until combined. Pour over muffins and bacon; cover tightly with plastic wrap. Refrigerate at least 2 hours and up to overnight.
3. Preheat oven to 350°. Place baking dish on a rimmed baking sheet; remove plastic wrap. Bake until puffed and set in the center (see note below), about 1 hour and 30 minutes. (Tent loosely with foil if strata starts to brown too quickly.) Let stand 10 minutes before cutting and serving.

Note: With a paring knife, pierce the center of the cooked strata. If it feels firm and the knife comes out clean, the eggs have set and the strata is done.

Enjoy!!

Thanks guys

I am interested in any and all recipes for this

Breakfast Casserole

6 eggs
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
2 cups milk
2 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 lb pork sausage, cooked and drained
6 slices bread
1/2 cup corn flake crumbs

Beat eggs; add mustard, salt, pepper, milk and 2 cups of cheese. Mix well. Add sausage. Remove crust from bread and cube. Place bread in bottom of greased 9x13 pan. Pour egg and sausage mixture over bread. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Bake, covered, in a 350 degree oven about 45 minutes. Uncover and sprinkle with 1/2 cup cheese and corn flakes. Bake 15 minutes longer.

I'm not sure how many this feeds but it makes a big ol casserole. This is so nice to fix when company is coming over or for special occasions as all the prep work (and the mess!) is done the night before. Enjoy!

Both versions sound yummy! It would also make a good supper dish for a busy day - you could make it in the morning and leave it in the fridge til everyone gets home! :goodvibes
