Brave: the forgotten Pixar

I wonder why this is. They could/should capitalize on a PRINCESS in their collection. With Pixar force fed on every turn at DLR I wonder why they don’t make more of this connection.
Yeah, they really absorbed Merida into the "princess" fold (she met outside Fantasy Faire for awhile and then wandered Fantasyland - although I haven't seen her lately, they sell her bow and arrow and dress in the princess shops, etc.), so I feel like she became a "princess" property instead of a "Pixar" property. A lot of people don't even realize she's from a Pixar movie.

This would have been a good time to remind them!
A float in that PP parade... some scenes on the projections. They left some money on the table, maybe.

At least Merida got a lot of love in WDW's FoF parade. But yeah, great question about why she's not featured in the Pixar parade.

It does make more sense to just put her with the other princesses than with Pixar. Honestly, little kids don't know the difference between regular Disney movies and Pixar anymore. Merida looks a lot like Rapunzel and Anna and Elsa because of the CGI.

I think Brave is a great movie. But, I have always felt it's more Walt Disney Animation than Pixar in terms of story. Maybe the powers that be at Disney feel the same.

It's funny, when people talk about forgotten Pixar movies, the Good Dinosaur always comes to my mind before Brave. I agree that Brave is less represented than the other Pixar movies, but I also think that's because they've moved her to the "princess group". In that one, she seems to have about the same amount of representation as Pocahontas and Mulan.

In terms of parades, it often seems to me that the floats either feature classic/established movies or whatever the most current movie was at the time when the parade debuted.

Merida gets much more love at WDW than at DL. I love her scene in Happily Ever After where she shoots an arrow off the castle!

There is a brief Good Dinosaur sequence in the projections for the current Pixar fireworks! I have to admit I didn't love that movie but it it was still nice to see it represented. I think there is a brief Brave one too.

Maybe because she doesn't really fit with the other talking objects and animals like most of the Pixar characters? I'm not a Pixar expert, but the closest ones I can think of are the Incredibles, but the Incredibles aren't exactly represented as normal humans.
