Saying of Day--- "Love You, Mean it"

I had planned this trip for months but not much of it turned out as planned. We still had fun. Told the Grump we would have fun no matter what even though he gets cranky with crowds and our three. And WE DID

Day 2 - Mission Disaster

Day 2. Our first officially day at disney. Dh awoke early .. around 5:30. He took a shower and got the rest of the suitcases and stuff from the car. I was tired so slept in and let dds sleep in also as they had gone to bed late. We got up around 8:30. Dressed and out the door by 9:30

We stopped at the pin stand outside the main door. Dh wanted to get the girls started on pin collecting. We bought the two oldest a princess lan with 5 pins. We attached the name tags we had bought last night to it. Oldest dd also had on her princess pin, birthday pin. The Bunny got upset because baby grump had more pins. Baby grump was in an accomdating mood that morning so she let her sister wear the princess pin.

The bus ride wasn't too bad. We were one of the first there but a crowd came up behind us. It seem routine for us to be ahead of the pack this trip. Dh said better to be in front then be in back.

1st park of trip - Epcot. Bad idea! The girls are not really favored for this park though dh and I love it. When we got there they still had the characters out there. Dh lined up with girls to get autographs while I went to get a double stroller. We had a umbrella one for baby but the older two wear out quick so knew we would need a stroller for them to share.

I got stroller and came back. For some reason everyone was in an extremely bad mood. Girls were in full monster mode(running everyone and vanishing on us) and dh was very grumbly. I almost disintegrated from the evil look I got when I told him "don't worry be happy.. a frown brings everyone down" I covered my face with my hat and started melting to the ground. Dh didn't find it very amusing though it got a laugh from the girls.

We got in some argument on the way toward Mission space and test track.. can't remember what. But lets say steam was rolling off dh. He was going to walk off and head back but I told him don't he dare. blah..blah more of the same. Arguments can be so boring.

We decided to take a stop at the baby care center near the worlds for a break and change the baby. Very cute place. They had a room with a tv so while I did changing duty, dh and girls watched tv. The bunny did a pin exchange while she was in there and was happy. When it was time to go I had to drag them all out including dh. Tvs seem to hyptonize him :earseek:

So we are off again and ended up going to the world showcase. I wanted to check out the wine and food festival. The plan today was to try the snacks and drinks at the stands. Didn't work that way as girls didn't have the patience for wait times. Couldn't get over how crowded it was. It was Nov 15, a sat and a day before the end of it so should have guessed.

WE stopped right before getting in to Canada and got the girls faces painted. The baby grump became an angel and engerizer bunny became an unicorn. Very cute. Adorably so. Of course about 5 seconds later came the litany of "I want to go back to the pool"

Next stop Canada. It was nice and Koda was there. Girls got autographs. There was a cute interaction between Koda and baby. She was nervous of him and kept walking toward him but then backing off. We were the only ones there so he played with her for a few mins. It was just too cute. Took quite a few pics here.

Stopped to get some coke and diet coke from rude cast member and continued on. There were quite a few rude people that day. What's with that? ;) Dh tried talking to this one couple who just ignored him but he can be persuasive when he wants and he got them talking to him. And I promise, if you step in front of me or the stroller I am pushing, especially a double stroller, none will stop on a dime and there will be bruised ankles. And keep those nasty looks to yourself. I have had my share for today but thanks for the offer. Ever seen hyper children before or ones throwing mini-tantrums? I can share one of mine with you since you seem to be so fascinated by them. Oh and would you like some cheese with that wine? :hyper:

My four were getting tired by this time and we decided we needed to seriously stop and eat somewhere to sit down. Finally stopped at Yakitori House about 30 seconds before complete meltdown. Dh feet were hurting and dds wanted to go swimming.
Dh and I shared the Beef curry and Yakitori. The girls had the kids pack. They ate the chicken but left the rice. Which is weird because they usually eat it at home. Dh finished all the lefts overs though I stole a couple extra bites. While eating the family next to us decided our family was more fascinating then their food. Hmmm maybe we could become a travelling act and make some money for amusing people. They had a nice show with guys playing drums right as we left. DH really enjoyed it.

2pm. It was decided to head back to the room before our 7:20 PS at 1900 Fare Park that night. On the way out baby grump wanted to push shirley temple and suddenly became the speed racer as she zoomed ahead. Made me a little nervous as it was a bit crowded. energizer got upset because she wanted an umbrella with her name on it but I didn't have the $20 cash it would have taken.

I did get to taste one of the wines in france while dh and girls got Esmeralda and Clopin's autographs. The wine was a little strong for my taste, can't remember the name of it.

Dh stopped to see a show in Australia on the way out and held the girls up so they could see it as the place was packed by now.

Off to the buses and back to the resort. Day 2 part 2 will come later.

Last Thoughts -
I was sad about this day as I love Epcot but I did get to experience the World showcase which I had wanted to do. Even though I didn't get to ride Mission Space there is always next time. I should have picked Magic Kingdom for dd's birthday for the first day. We enjoyed the day but were tired and cranky.
The showcase was beautiful and had so much to explore. When we go back I will plan a day to explore it by myself or with dh.

Thanks for sharing! We're taking 15 month old curly-haired dd next week, and I'm enjoying reading about Shirley's adventures!

Wonderful trip report ~ Thanx for sharing.

I'm sorry you were sad and things didn't go as planned. It sounded like an exhausting experience. It is hard enough when it is crowded but if one or more of the kids didn't want to be there AND if husband is in a bad mood with an attitude it can be just AWFUL! I have been there!!! Don't feel bad about not going to the MK that day. The MK is ALWAYS packed on Saturdays and your day could have been worse! Hope the rest of your trip gets better. :D
