Brain fart - when do i book Oct 1

I'm sure I should know this. We normally go later in the month but next year we are starting our trip either Oct 1 or Oct 2. If we go with Oct 1, can I book that tomorrow, on Oct 31? Or on Nov 1? The whole Sept only having 30 days is making me question myself. Never booked a trip starting the first of a month.

Nov 1. If there isn't a corresponding day, then it's the next day. For example, if you want to book Oct 31, you have to wait until Dec 1 because there is no Nov 31. The first of the month will always correspond to the first of the month 7 or 11 months away.

Okay great thanks. I knew that sounded right but I was doubting myself. I think the other example ( booking Oct 31 on Dec 1) is what I was remembering.
