braids?

Hi - My first question and first post:

My dd would like get braids at one of the braid places. Where would we get that done? Nassau? Castaway Cay? We have read about it but don't know when or where.

We are going on the 4 day on Nov 31, 2003.

Linda...........our first cruise my DW and DD's had them done in Nassau. (As soon as you get off the ship) The video in the stateroom says "negotiate". My DW did as I went to get some duty free liquor. 260.00 later at 2.00 a braid they were done. Our next cruise I negotiated. We were in Freeport. Towards to end of the shops. 20.00 per head and I gave a 5.00 tip per. Same results. NEGOTIATE FOR THE WHOLE HEAD..........NOT PER BRAID.

I do not know about the braids.....but we will also been on the Nov 30th 4 day Wonder cruise.

Courtneysmom, we are doing the land/sea package so we will be at the parks Wednesday - Sunday. Looking so forward to it!
We are taking our 11yo ds and 12 yo dd.

We will be in room 8586.

It is great to talk to someone who will be with us on the ship - this is our first Disney cruise.

I would get this done on board. According to the latest Navigators, sign ups for appointments on the 4-night are 5:30-6:30pm outside of Preludes/Stores on Sunday. My niece had hers done the first night at 10:30pm. This is kind of late, but then she had it for the entire cruise and didn't have to wait hours during CC. I believe they also have sign ups for CC on the day outside of Mickey's Mate 9-10 am.

Just Check the navigators. The only problem is that the information is hard to find. It is near the Merchandise Shop Hours but is very small.

The Navigator is the daily shipboard listing of activities. It will be become your bible for your cruise. It will list the times/locations of every possible thing going on. Indispensible. If you want to see samples, go to www.castawayclub.com.

As for the braids, we did it on board, paid $30 + tip for the headband style. Bring your own comb and brush and prepare your DD that they will pull her hair hard to get the braids tight. As much as my DD loved the look, she hated the process and now has said she much prefers getting hair wraps (which were not available).

We just had this done last week. Disney charged $2.00 per braid. My daughters had 40 braids between them, so it would have been $80.00 plus tip. We had it done in Freeport for $20.00 each, plus trip, and they are very nice.
