So. My fella told me that he wants to take me on vacation and that he wants to take me to Disney World because I love it so much.

Last time I went was solo... and it was amazing. I'm not saying I DON'T want to go with him but, well, some adjustment to doing what I want when I want.

The point is... Given a say, (and I really have no idea here) $2500 budget for 2 people...
what would you plan?

I'm not sure I really understand what you're trying to ask. Your guy wants to take you and you enjoy Disney? To me, that's two of the best things in the world and very nice of him to offer.

First you have to figure out where you want to stay and for how long.

That'll give your a better idea of what you can afford special - like a fireworks cruise or tour.

Just do it! So you don't get to flit off and do whatever you want...Actually, I think you will be able to do just that. It is just the two of you, so you can totally be flexible. If he doesn't want to do something you want to do, then you can separate for a bit and meet back up. I have a feeling you will end up finding things you love doing together. Plus...a trip on someone else's dime??? I would be in for sure! If it were me, and actually, my hubby and I are tossing around a cruise and trip to WDW next year for just the two of us, so I am actually planning a similar trip right now, I would go with a middle of the road resort that is beautiful and romantic. We are probably going to do POFQ. My hubby really wants AK, but I feel like the hike in price isn't worth it when we will have plenty of years to do trips on our own when the kids are raised. A water view looks really beautiful and romantic. Maybe you will want to do a lot of restaurants, so if you do, I would think about how often and where you want to eat out. We are considering the Deluxe dining plan so we can eat at some higher end restaurants that take 2 entitlements. From that point, I think you will be off and running, and ready to have a great time!

I suppose my fear is that I'm taking advantage of my sweetie. It's his idea, and going by myself I totally economized. He's more apt to go to nice dinners and do tours so I guess I just don't know how to reconcile the two ideals. Yes it's really the best problem in the world to have and I'm very lucky. I also want to make sure he leaves with pixie dust in his pocket.

So should we save money and stay at a value? maybe moderate?

Should we do a tour? Segway or Keys to the World?

When I went by myself I stayed value and mostly ate counter service but also went to Victoria and Alberts so that I would really appreciate it. Is that romantic or crazy?

I want him to love Disney as much as I do :)

These are questions you should be asking him. If you're really worried about feeling like you're taking advantage of him, you really should let him make the budgetary decisions. Also, If you already have this trip basically planned out in your head before you ask his opinions, it's going to end up being the trip that you want him to have instead of the trip he wants to have - there's no pixie dust in that.

The first thing is to ask him what he had in mind regarding his intentions. Sounds like a great guy to take you where you want to go. Of course, the time of the year you will be going to Walt Disney World will have a bearing. Consider a economy resort and work in extras like you mentioned. A special dinner at an EPCOT country. Its fun sometimes just to enjoy walks through the different resorts or bike ride through Fort Wilderness. Enjoy!
