Brag About Your Pets:)

DrTommorow - you kill me!

I have an old gal Gina around 12 or 13 - don't know because we adopted her when she was around nine or ten. She is also dealing with diabeties (sp?) and a thyroid condition. She is doing better now that she is used to her shots and meds. She mostly sleeps and I have to use a wire brush on her now - as she doesn't clean herself and she gets matted from all the laying down!

DD has a fiddler crab (Sebastian), and my dad - who lives down stairs has a really loving black lab named Taz!

As I posted a few days ago, I just got a great new guy - a cinnamon varigated canary named Mai Tai! He is a riot.

Now - not to say Gina is getting old, but it took her an entire day to notice the bird! And she sleeps in the same room! We have only had to "mist" her twice with the water bottle to keep her away from the cage. It was nice to see her eyes light up with the old hunting instinct (poor Mai Tai!), if only for a moment. I don't think she has that much longer, but we'll love her to the end!

Cute story:

Doyle and Cordelia got into a fight(no worries, just a play fight) last night and they almost knocked over the litter box and the food bowls.I think I understand them more since they are only babies:)

I have been told by my cats that they want individual photos posted of each of them.

Here is Happy from about a year ago.

Belle, apparently, doesn't pose by herself often. I can't find a semi-recent photo of her by herself. Here she is with Ariel and this photo is about a year old.

Wow! Except for the fact that Happy is a he instead of a she...I would SWEAR he looks so much like Precious did it's un freaking canny. :earseek:

LOL!

Can you tell yours apart, other than the collars?

Currently we have only one "baby", Snoopy. She is a nine year old DSH; gray with dark gray stripes. Her chin and "eyeliner" are white. I like to say she has chocolate feet, the pads are brown. This cat "talks" all the time; even to guests. Sometimes she won't shut up!
When she was a baby she would attack mirrors, even to the point of turning somersaults. These days, she just pretends that she is tough, hopping on the bed with her tail puffy and a ridge on her back, making little "growl" noises.
Snoopy also considers herself a watch cat - she growls when someone pulls in the driveway, before she runs under the bed.
My parents have two golden retrievers, brother and sister, and they are sooo lovable. Their names are Chewbacca (Chewie) and Copper. I love to visit them. When Mom tells Chewie that DH and I will be visiting, he stands on his hind legs by the window to watch for us. How cute!

Happy is a she.

All of mine are female and yes, I can easily tell them apart, just by the shapes of their heads, although there are other clues like size, white spots, etc.

Well, my dog is a mix breed of whatever was in the neighborhood. Black lab, german sheperd, etc. The nicest disposition. He is 15, turns 16 in October. I have been very fortunate because he has always been healthy. He weighs 70 lbs. Took him to the vet today because he has been drinking a lot of water.

Well, thank goodness he is not diabetic! He is probably in the beginning stages of kidney failure. We will get our bloodwork results sometime Monday. We will begin with a special diet if it is kidney disease.

I have been very lucky to have this much time with him. I leave for our Disney vacation on Sunday. My sis will call me if it is something serious. Lets just hope it's not.

He is the best dog ever!!

I guess that makes us DINKS (double income,no kids!)
We volunteered for the Humane Society where we used to live and managed to only bring home two dogs permenantly:
Serena: small yellow dog with a curly tail; very very smart!
Lucy: beagle something... most laid back dog you have ever seen, never gets off the couch!

We used to foster homeless puppies, so we always had at least one extra! New house doesn't have a good area for fostering.

This week I have my parents 18 week old Golden Retreiver... he's at that lovely "leaping and jumping" stage!

Also have a 5 year old Saddlebred mare show horse!

Hey! How do we post photos?

Hiya,

Great thread!!!!

Loving the pictures esp, and all the crazy tales of cats at their best :) I love cats!

Currently in DBF and my house we have just the one, our gorgeous but crazy calico 'Mips' who joined us about 10mths ago. She's just over a year old and scatty as anything. She makes us laugh on a daily basis. *knock on wood* she hasn't *ever* brought us any little presents so of course I'm immensely thankful for that.

Here's a pic or two:

My 12th birthday present was the most wonderful cat in the world (well, Mips is tie now of course!), I called him Rufus. He is now 9 years old and I still love him to bits! He lives with my parents as I didn't want to separate him from the 'family' cat, Poppy. She is 5 years old, she was born under my Grandma's bed :)

Rufus:

Poppy:

Rufus really took Poppy under his wing when she moved in with us, he still trys to clean her every so often LOL!

Hopefully DBF and I will be getting another cat soon, I keep hassling ;) but we are going to wait until we get a bigger house... which should hopefully be in the next month or so!!! Yay!!

Cya,

I got bit by a German sheperd when i was 6 years old and from that point on i was absolutly HORRIFIED of dogs. big, little, young, old i wouldnt go near them.

But for christmas my mothers fiance bought me a 3 month old yellow lab who we named Toby. Ever since we have had him I havent been afraid at all! having a dog myself has helped me get rid of my fear!

i love my Toby to death, he will be 2 in october and hes still cute as ever

We've had a few cats over the past 22 years. We only have 1 left and she adopted us a few years ago, her name is SassyGirl and she looks alot like Beauty's Cairo so I guess she could be a main coon. She just loves my youngest son and will let him do anything to her.

This is our iguana, Thunder. Ain't he one handsome dude? He was young in this picture...he's now about five feet long with tail. Thunder is my pride and joy!

We have Max(male cat) that is about 8yo. We bought him from a vet as a kitten and he had all sorts of skin problems. When he was about 3mos old he lost all of his fur and had to have a bath with special shampoo 1x daily. It lasted about a month and then the fur started to grow back. He has orange fur and is an outdoor cat. He likes to bring me home treats and leave them outside the door. A few years ago he got into a tangle with a skunk! What a stink!!! We also have our new baby(in my signature) Sophie. She is a 10 week old Beagle. We've had her for a month and we love her. She is a challenge to train but she is so much fun!!
