When flying out of Bradley (Hartford), what option is best for parking, short term terminal (just reopened) or Valet with an off site lot? Never flown out of Bradley before, or driven self to airport, so all help is appreciated. We'll be gone 4 days/3nights.

Hi gfolchick...I live in Cromwell and the times I left my car I used a valet site down the road from the airport. They are reasonable and the shuttling busses are very good. Sometimes I take Ct Limo when I don't want to drive. I'm not much of a highway driver, but my flights are always early morning so it's not bad driving, but coming home after 3 pm thru Hartford can be a B--ch. I'm just not use to driving busy hi-ways, and it freaks me out.

Thanks Cassie.
I just got a coupon in the mail this week for the valet parking. I think it's $7 per day, which sounded good since self parking is $6. Our departing flight is at 11:30am so I'm hoping traffic won't be too bad. We're used to driving in traffic doing the I-95 rush hour to/from Stamford daily. Still, it's our first time using Bradley & SWA so any help is appreciated.

I will say Bradley is a great "small airport" and I've always have a good experience up there. Good luck and have a great vacation...:) :) :)

We will be leaving our car at Executive valet in Suffield (actually just down the road) if you need info just go to executivevalet.com. They even have a coupon. It works out to just about the same price as leaving your car at long-term parking at Bradley.

Pamk,
Thanks for the website, we are leaving from Bradley Thanksgiving day. How does the parking work, do we go to the site and do they drive my car to the airport, or is it like any other parking lot where we park and a shuttl bus picks us up at the car and they drive us to the airport? I'll call them before we leave and ask these questions, but if you know I would appreciate it.

KellyDVC - You leave your car with them and they will bring you to the airport in a shuttle. When you return there is a phone in the baggage claim area that you can pick up and call them. They will come right over and get you.

Got another great place to park- at least we have been pleased every time we have been there. It's called Roncari Express - right next to that Teletheater up the road. They then have buses to take passengers over to the airport every few minutes. Use your AAA card and get a discount. We love Bradley too.:D

We always self park in the long term parking. But we haven't flown out of Bradley since they completed part of the parking garage. I would definitely park on site and take their shuttle to your terminal.

We live very close to Bradley so it's easy to have someone drop us off at the airport, and not worry about parking...but when we flew out 10/13, at 7am, we were shocked at the lines! We arrived 2 hours early for that 7am flight and needed EVERY MINUTE of the extra time. Bradley is not the "small airport" it used to be - be prepared!

A quick follow up...I heard on the news yesterday that Bradley has lifted all parking restrictions.

They are 5.00 (ish) a day for valet parking if you have the AAA card. You need to get a coupon from AAA (I didnt have to show my card, just gave them the coupon). It is around the corner from the airport and they will shuttle you back. What we did this time is, I dropped the rest of my party at the check in and then I dropped the car off. By the time I got back to the airport they were in the from of the check in line. Worked out great. On the way home, they picked up the luggage while I got the car.

Executive Valet Parking is the best, and I've tried most of them.

I'm a (mostly) lifelong CT resident, and have flown out of BDL a few dozen times. Executive Valet Parking is on Rte. 75 (Ella Grassso Pike which runs right along the eastern boundary of the airport), just north of the Airport and the ANG station in Suffield (just over the line from Windsor Locks.)

They have very cheap rates (cheaper even than the park it yourself $6 a day "economy" lot run by the airport). They provide true valet service (e.g., when I returned in December and there had been a snowfall while I was gone, my car was cleared of snow, engine running and heat on when I returned). They also have a "frequent parker" discount card which will earn you services (free carwash, etc.) or free parking after you park there so many times.

Their van driver was quite professional and was very helpful with the bags.

The only other suggestion I would offer -- if you have an early morning flight, I would recommend staying over at the Bradley International Inn, a small motel near the airport -- for the price of the room for one night they'll let you park for nothing while you're gone, offer free continental breakfast delivered to your room and a free shuttle to the airport and back upon yhour return.

So there's my ideas; hope they help!

Regards,

Joe Hurley

We've found Roncari to be first class! They are across the street from Bradley next to the OTB Theatre. They also have the most frequent vehicles from and to the terminals. They are terrific. (We have problems with the states shuttles, they are too infrequent and make you wait while everyone else drops off).
