Hey people!!
I just wanted some info on braces cause I'm gettin some soon like in 2 weeks kind of soon not tomorrow kind of soon and I really need some help!!!! If you have tips of how to find out a guy likes you without asking him I need some of those too!!
1. Does your mouth feel heavier when you get braces?
2. Does it hurt to break a bracket?
3. Is it difficult to get stuff out of your teeth?
4. Do braces make your breath smell bad?
5. What should I take to stop the pain?
These are the questions that haunt me. They may be stupid but I need these answered!

1. Not really.
2. I wouldn't know. I have seriously never broken a bracket. People I know break them on pathetic things like a croissant, and I chew the chewiest and hardest things and don't break anything.
3. Sometimes. But I mean, if you're brushing you're teeth and you've got your pick thing, it's really not hard.

5. Take something like Tylenol, Advil, Motrin (whatever you use) before you go and keep on taking it after. None of it works for me, but it might for you.

Uhm. Motrin ususally works for pain.
Drink loads of milkshakes.

It's this brush thing, it's narrow enough so that you can slip it through the wires to get stuff out of your teeth.
Stuff like chicken and steak often get stuck in the wire and stuff.

1. Nope, especially when you get used to it!
2. Never broke one, so I wouldn't know!
3. Not too difficult, just use the tools your orthodontist gives you (and make sure to brush well!)
4. Nope, they don't!
5. Any kind of pain reliever works!

5. What should I take to stop the pain? Advil is what I always used.. After a while it doesn't hurt as much.

2. Does it hurt to break a bracket? Only 1 broke off for me, it didn't hurt,
felt like a snap.

3. Is it difficult to get stuff out of your teeth? Not really - the first month or two, it will be - because your tongue is still getting used to having braces on. In about 2 months, it'll grow stronger and you'll be able to suck things right out of them.

4. Do braces make your breath smell bad? Hahahaha, no!

5. What should I take to stop the pain? Don't take anything. It won't hurt if you don't think about it. Really. I'm serious. It doesn't hurt to get them on - the only time it hurts is when they're moving. You will be fine. If you fuss about how they hurt, it's more about you making it a big deal than how much it actually hurts.

Not really. It just feels like your lips are all pushed out until you get used to it.

Nope. I didn't even notice when I broke one of mine and didn't notice until I looked in the mirror and it wasn't there anymore. I think I might of accidently swallowed it at lunch...oops.
3. Is it difficult to get stuff out of your teeth?
Not if you use that little thingmabob they give you to get the stuff out from inbetween the wires. They'll teach you how to floss inbetween the wires and all that stuff before you leave.
4. Do braces make your breath smell bad?
Not if you brush your teeth.
5. What should I take to stop the pain?
I usually took motrin and it helped a bunch, but any type of over-the-counter pain killer should work fine.

well this is for numba two! well the first day i got my braces, the bracket popped off when i wasn't even doing anything but all you feel is like a POP! and thats it. it doesnt hurt really.

5. Don't. You won't need it. It will go away by itself. And the only time it will hurt is when you first get it.

When I got a chain on both the bottom and top teeth, it hurt. It felt like my teeth were going to fall out of my mouth at any moment and the pain killers worked until I had to eat something. I couldn't even bit down on something as tiny as an M&M without it hurting. It was really kind of pathetic.

Thanks so much for the info guys and gals!! I found out the exact date I am gettin my braces March 28, 2007!!! I am so excited! And BTW #1Tiggerfan where did you get the Jabba Wockees (srry abt spellin) icon i so gotta have that!!!

you will even forget that u have braces in after a month. dont worry about the pain unless u get an expander. An expander is pain that you cant believe
