i've had braces for nearly five years

but i should get them off by february which is good i'm so ready to get these hell-ish things off

around here no one gets laughed at for them bc most ppl have them only get laughed at if you have ugly braces like plain metal or wite ones but if you have some pretty color like blue purpple pink lime green ect your fine

I totally hated my braces. I had them on for a year. They made my teeth very yellow underneath. I had those wieid things wrapped around the backs of my teeth, and right before I got them off the orthdontis said my teeth looked very good, no cavaties. But guess what? When I got them off, I had 7 cavaties underneath the metal. It was not my fault, it was the braces. I'm very prone to cavaties anyway, but it still made me so mad.

And when I got them off, they wanted to file my teeth down. I'm like NO!!

But, I was supposed to get them again, but my mom gave me a choice and I said no. I never wore my retainer anyway, and they went back to normal.

I only think they cost like $2,000 (which is cheap compared to 5k!!), but they weren't a full set. I only had them on my first four front top and bottom teeth.

im getting spacers on the eighth and braces, well, idk when but its soon.

do braces hurt?

Spacers don't hurt, but mine fell out. Braces hurt me like crazy (I'm not trying to scare you). The orthodontist had to give me a prescription for tylanol with codiene (sp?) because advil did nothing after they were tightened. I had to eat soup for over a week when I first got them. And mine weren't even a full set... I can't imagine having them on all my teeth.

And the wires poked. And my mouth still is red from it

I was supposed to get them off in September or Novembe, but now they're thinking of giving me rubber bands.

I only have two teeth out of place and you cant even tell when i smile. But they hurt me and my dentist said as i get older they will start pushing against each other and either push them back or ware them out =[ Im kind of scared to though. But around here they don't pick on you because of them. i think alot of people look cute with them lol.

The wire you're talking about is probably ligatures. My ortho uses them on me to link the wires for teeth that aren't straight across (like some of my teeth, they're in a spot where the normal wire can't pop into it).

Do you have Braces???? No but i went the Orthodontics on Thursday and he said that i need braces and i'm getting them on in Febuary I think but I have had retaners, head-gear, and all that other fun stuff but no braces yet... till Febuary
Well if you do, do you get made fun of like Brace Face, Metal Mouth, or the common one??? Not yet since i dont have them yet

But are yours very expensive??? I think they gave my mom a quote of $4,500 but our insurance is paying $1000 and therers a sibling discount since my brother has them so i think i came down to 3,300 or something like that

Im going to share a secret and actually I got lucky with this. I only had to have braces on the top of my mouth, but it hurt alot. Anyways, I also had to wear headgear at nighttime...
