I always see little girls dressed in their cute princess dresses in the parks, and, having boys, I'm always so envious. For our recent trip I wanted to get in on the fun, so I purchased Peter Pan costumes on sale, plus we had Buzz Lightyear and Cowboy Woody costumes from Halloween. Our twins, age 4, wore the costumes during the trip - and they had a BLAST! They got lots of attention (which they loved), and I got some really great pictures of them pretending to be Peter, Woody, and Buzz. My "Woody" really enjoyed Woody's Round-up in Frontierland---he got special attention from "Cowboy Woody" during the show. They want to bring costumes again next year, so I've already ordered pirate costumes (they were on sale). I know I'll only get another year or so of this fun - so I'm going to enjoy every minute of it with them!

Just wanted to remind you other parents of boys that you can have fun with costumes at Disney, too!!!

Tip: the Peter Pan costumes were comfy, and so was the Woody costume - both are 2-piece outfits. The Buzz costume is one piece, so it's more difficult to deal with for bathroom breaks.

Good point! My 5yo DS wore his Peter Pan costume for our December trip, and we have some great pictures of him with Peter Pan and Wendy. A Photopass photog took a pic of him in front of the castle and added Tink. During the parade at MK, Captain Hook and Mr. Smee came straight over to him and challenged him to a duel. He wore that costume for 3-4 days, and loved every minute of it. We also bought a Buzz costume at the Disney store, but it was pretty warm for the weather we were having, plus the whole bathroom issue you already mentioned.

I've already bought a pirate costume for our tentative Oct 2008 trip, and Peter Pan will probably still fit him.

Another thing that we did was shave a "hidden Mickey" into his hair in the back of his head. He has a short, crew-like cut already, and got tons of positive comments from CMs and other guests about his Mickey!

There is plenty of fun for boys to have at Disney!

We are just starting to plan our fall trip. My boys and I watched the vacation planning video the other day and my oldest's first question was "Can I wear my Buzz Lightyear costume when we get to Disney World?" I can't wait to get a picture of him and his brother in their costumes with the characters or on the Buzz ride.

My youngest asked for a Peter Pan costume the other day. I'll have to check our local Disney store because I know I saw some after Halloween. It's going to be so fun!!:yay:

My ds wore his Peter Pan costume and his Pirate costuem on our trip a few weeks ago. He got TONS of attention!!!!

We are going in November so I plan on getting DS a Disney costume for Halloween to wear in the park. I'm think Peter Pan. I can't wait:-)

So glad you posted! I wondered about my DS. I think we will pack up his Buzz costume and maybe his Prince Charming one too. He has Aladdin too but I'm not sure I can get him to wear that one. LOL!

You won't regret bringing the costumes! It really was so much fun for them to "pretend" all day in the parks - especially when other people and the characters played along.

The Peter Pan costume is adorable & was worth the money - they seemed comfy in it. I also like it because it's short-sleeved, so they won't get hot in it. You could always put a turtleneck shirt underneath if it gets cool.

Peter Pan was a popular pick for our little guy too. Very easy to get on and off, especially for potty breaks! Buzz was just too much work, and ended up having to stay home in the tickle trunk!

I've got a Jack Sparrow costume hidden away in the closet, with the hopes DH might be swayed into a PPP trip this spring!

I'm just so happy to see other Moms/Dads getting the little boys into the spirit!

I saw a little one in his prince charming costume. HOW ADORABLE!! It was too darn cute.

My son wore his Peter Pan costume on our last trip and he got so much attention- I agree that it's a great idea! We had a lot of fun & it was nice for him to be able to dress up, too.
We left the Buzz costume at home since that was more uncomfortable, but we're on the lookout for a pirate one to bring next time.

My son wore his Captain Hook costume when we went in October. He got lots of comments from the CMs and other park guests. It also helped provide our favorite memory of him with the actual Captain Hook and Mr. Smee. They made it so very special for him. He still talks about it to this day.

I love dressing all my kids up! They have a ball too! For the boys we have had pirates, the incredibles, Mickey Mouse, Prince Charming, Prince Eric, a Stormtrooper, pirate Mickey etc. We even had Donald Duck for Halloween at home one year. I had to throw that in as I worked really hard on that costume and my DS looked so darn cute!:lovestruc I make whatever costume we can't find or like. My DS was dressed as Prince Charming for a dinner and other parents with little girls were asking if their kids could take pictures with him! He is such a ham that he was loving it! :rotfl: Of course our girls have been every princess under the sun as well. :cloud9:
