There was also a test Heroes meal. This complaint has been constant since my nine year old was two and probably for longer than that.

Personally, I think most of the non-princess meals are "boy meals." Mickey Donald Pluto Goofy and Chip & Dale are all boys (you have to look to find Minnie or Daisy). Lilo and Stitch has Lilo, but Stitch is "all boy" - plus Mickey and Goofy (I think). The Pooh characters are all boys.

I voted that I'd attend all of them and I would, because I like to try all of the meals eventually. However, I don't think any of those meals would appeal exclusively to boys like the princesses do to girls. In fact I can't think of any Disney characters that are liked only by boys.

There was some talk about opening a pirate themed restaurant (in the Pirata y Perico space?) called Tortuga. Carribean themed food, and a visit from Jack Sparrow and his crew. That idea has been put on the back burner for now reportedly due to budget constraints, but wouldn't that be cool? pirate:

And in 2005 or 2006 Disney was polling some guests about what they would think of a pirate themed outdoor BBQ, maybe in the Fort Wilderness area. Now, THAT would be something. It was only in the "what would you think of this" stage, but sounded really amazing:

"Board a pirate vessel from a resort and sail to Pirate's Cove, where Captain Jack Sparrow and his band of bandits have cooked up a beach barbecue. Salty songs, tall tales, delicious food, and a hunt for the fabulous Tortuga Treasure spice up this fun-filled evening under the stars. Guests are given a clue-filled treasure map, and friendly competition is held to find the priceless prize."

They could even incorporate Peter Pan characters -- Peter, Hook, Wendy, Smee...

Funny, this topic came up just a couple of days ago, and we were discussing it here:

I would vote for a Star Wars theme! With face characters. I think guys would love that. Well, I know my two guys (big and little) would at least!

I always thought the fab five were for the boys, and they're everywhere!
And of course the Princesses work extremely well for the older guys...

That said I wouldn't mind having dinner with Hook and Captain Jack.

Let us know what you would pick.

My wife and I have been thinking…Disney is really missing the boat on the boys when it comes to character meals. So here are our plans if we were the Disney higher-ups:

1. At HS, an AL’S Toy Barn Blowout – Characters include Buzz, Woody, Bull’s-Eye, Army Men, & Zurg
2. At MK, a High Seas Hijinx - Characters include Pirate Mickey, Captain Jack Sparrow, Captain Hook, & Peter Pan
3. At Epcot, a Banquet Fit for a Prince – Characters include Aladdin, Phillip, Eric, Prince Charming
4. I would do them all!
5. Disney has enough Character Meals!

P.S. – If Disney would like to use these ideas…I will allow it…for the small price of Free Dining Plan for every visit my family makes! :goodvibes

My 2 DSs just goes to Chef Mickeys and call it a day! But if they had a meal that reminded them of being on a pirate ship would be wonderful. Shipwreck City kind of a place. You can put out Captain Jack Sparrow and other pirate folks and have impromptu sword fights!

You can even teach some kids how to swab the deck and other things. And it'll be a Caribbean restaurant. How cool would that be?

There are "girl" meals, but I can't agree with you because most the other meals are for every one.

Garden Grill - mickey, pluto, chip & dale
chef mickey's - mickey, donald, goofy, minnie, and this one books up just as easily as CRT or Norway.
Ohona's - Lilo & stitch, Mickey, Pluto
Crystal Palace - pooh, eeyore, tigger, and even if every one thinks piglet is a girl, piglet is a boy. But every kid still wants to know where Darby is.
Liberty Tree Tavern - Minnie, Goofy, chip & dale
Tusker House - Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Mickey
Mickey's backyard BBQ

And I'm sure there are more at some of the resorts that I don't know of. But there are many "boy friendly" meals as there are girlie meals.

I personally would love to see a Star Wars themed character meal!!

I agree that there are character meals out there that are perfectly acceptable for boys to go to. I just don't see a meal that is specifically geared JUST for boys like the princess meals tend to be geared just for girls (you'll get boy/girl cross overs at both types of meals, I am saying that princess meals are generally geared for girls)

I would love for my boys to dress up like pirates, take a trip to the BBB for a costume and 'scurvy' makeup/fake beard and take them to a pirate dinner.

I see many pixie dusted princesses in the parks all heading for the castle, 1900 Park Fare or Norway, but very few boys dressed up for their 'special' night with Mickey Mouse and Minnie at Chef Mickey's.

Again, I do agree that there are meals that you can take your boys to, but those are more unisex than specifically geared for the boys. There are three meals that are geared specifically for princesses, it'd be nice if there was one for our princes too.

I think HS should have one with many boys characters and rotate them. Incredibles and Monsters Inc could be included.

I would to add some ideas for your cause (without your catchy names)

Pixar!!!! (Monsters, Toy Story, Incredibles)
Adventure--(Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Power Rangers)
Villians!!!!!

Pirates - It would appeal to both my younger and older boy. A couple years ago I would have picked Toy Story, but my 9yo isn't much into it anymore.

It's not a character meal or Disney-themed, but I'm so looking forward to taking my boys to the new T-Rex. Hopefully it will help a bit to balance out the princess and pooh meals!

The pirates and toy story meals would be great. My boys would also love a Star Wars meal.
The lack of boy themed Disney anything has been frustrating. But lately it seems like they (Disney) are making strides to change that. The World of Disney Store now has a pirate room and the Disney stores (I know it's not owned by Disney) now have a lot more boy merchandise. Hopefully a character meal is soon to follow.

I don't have any children but I do think a Star Wars themed meal would be fantastic!! :thumbsup2

I would do them all. But I have a feeling my daughter would have more fun. I think my son (8)would love the Pirates theme at MK and any Star Wars theme would be great for him too, but the others I think would be no big deal to him. He would prefer Coral Reef.

My son isn't really a big fan of the Princes. I think my daughter would have more fun with them.

I chose to do them all. Especially the one with Capt. Jack  It would be a huge drool fest for all of us ladies! :cloud9:
