Boys at CRT?

We ill be travelling to WDW in less that 100 days! I have most of my ADR hopefuls ready to go, but CRT is the one that is throwing me!

Has anyone taken boys here before? I have 3 guys who will be 10, 5, and 5. The twins think that the Castle IS WDW and I think they may like to eat there ... but I'm just not sure. Is it worth 2 TS credits for us ..... HELP!!!!

It's nice to have a meal in the castle. I have had breakfast twice, both times it was good but felt rushed.

I wouldn't go again unless I was taking a little girl who has never been (probably next year-my niece's first Disney Trip). I don't have to go this year!

The boys will get a sword. Dinner doesn't have the princesses going around to the tables. The fairy godmother and the mice do some kind of show/song instead.

my boys were 5 and 7 when we went (for dd who was 3 and far too young to appreciate it, imho)
the boys loved the princesses coming and "fussing" them, belle got into the game and tried to steal dh (she soon gave him back when i said she could keep him if i could take the beast home)
it is a "girly" thing, imho, and very over rated, dh and i loved dining in the castle, the kids just didnt get how magical it was (DO YOU KNOW HOW HARD MOMMY HAD TO TRY FOR THESE RESSIES....)
but dont worry about the boys feeling left out, they get a plastic sword, and a "gift" before they leave.
i wouldnt do it again, but glad i did it the 1st time, kwim?

I have 3 boys (11, 7, & 4), and all 3 begged me to get a reservation at Cindy's. They wanted to experience the Castle at least once, not to mention that my 7 year old wants to one day marry Cinderella so I decided to book a lunch reservation (much to their moms' delight!)

I've only heard so-so reviews about the food, but the atmosphere is suppose to be great. I am on the DDP, but decided I could get more "bang for my buck" by using my dining credits for 2 pricey dinners instead of 1 signature experience, so we decided to pay for this one with our own money and save my DDP points for 2 more expensive meals instead (Tutto Italian & 1900 Park Fare dinners).

On the plus side of CRT prices, it included tax, gratuity, and a photo package plus a little sword keepsake for the boys to take home. Our family of 5 cost about $198 for a lunch...2 adults, 1 Jr. and 2 kids.

Our trip is a surprise, so I can't just ASK them where they want to go. We watch Disney Channel, and every time the little boys see the castle they shout - IT'S DISNEY WORLD!!!!

Hopefully we can get in and they will love it!

I have two boys, 10 & 12 and then DH of course! They say they want to do CRT, even if it's just to eat and see the inside of the castle...they actually say that they're taking me rather than me taking them.

My son has really enjoyed it both times he's been there, once at about age 5 and once at about age 8. He loves swords. When he was 5, he especially enjoyed it and was not shy about the fact that he was really in love with the princesses. He would blush when they would hug him. By the next visit, he was more "cool," but still had a very nice time.

lunch three times. Our son was 7, 8 and 10 for those trips. (Daughter was 3, 4, and 6.) Your five year olds will enjoy it. Your ten year may well enjoy it. Mine is a bit shy out around women (for now at least) and so he doesn't interact with the princesses. He does like the swords and now has a collection of three different styles.

We went in March with our twin boys (3 at the time) and DD4. Our boys thought the princesses were great and they loved the swords that they were given.

We went when my son was 2.5 in 2008. It started out more for me but ended up being about him. He was very smitten with Cinderella when he got his picture taken with her. Even gave her a kiss. They give the boys toy swords and the girls toy wands. He still has his sword.

He did not really get the rest of it with the fairy godmother and step-sisters as he was too little and had not seen the movie yet. BUT he loved eating in the castle. Like the PP said, to him, the castle is Disney.

absolutely! i have a precious photo of my son, then in early 20's, and cinderella. last december the entire family was there and again another photo this time w/my adult sons and their spouse/partner. precious. if i knew how to post a photo i would.
