Do you make your sons do the princess meals with their sisters? My oldest son is passionately anti-princess. The only female characters he had his picture taken with our last trip were Lilo and Daisy. He was OK with Lilo, but scowled in the Daisy photo. So we're trying to decide whether to force our boys to smile and go because it's their sister's special time, or split up and take the boys somewhere else to eat. If we split, dh is dead set that HE will take dd to eat with the princesses...I think maybe he just wants his picture with them. :rotfl: Curious how other mixed-gender families have dealt with this.

DS was a champ at the princess dinner for his sister. We set it up as if that was her special choice and he had his own choice (Donald's Breakfast).

he was not interested in having pictures taken with them, and the princesses all made sure to acknowledge him, but kept their distance from him (I'm sure they deal with that all of the time.) Ariel put her hand out to him and said "give me some fin" which he thought was pretty funny. He also had a nice conversation with Jasmine about pixie dust.

I know he liked it, although I'm sure he would never admit it. My DD, however, was unbelievably thrilled with the whole experience!

My son goes to the princess meals. Each child gets to pick one character meal, so he is okay with it. I actually think he likes the castle. Now he does not get the kisses like my youngest son does! The princesses really do a good job interacting with the boys.

I have a friend whose husband and son did CM while she and her DD did CRT.

I know my DH certainly would not want to miss Jasmine :goodvibes (although we have only seen her at Akershus, not CRT), but he also would hate to miss his little girl with the princesses. She loves them so much and is just beside herself with happiness when we are there.

We had dinner at Akershus last July, and my boys went. They actually had some fun joking with Jasmine; she made a point to tease them. But they did not get in any pictures with princesses.

This year, just DD and I are going to CRT for breakfast. The boys can ride Space Mountain and Buzz while we're meeting Cinderella.

I decided we all do dinner together each night. During the day, we can split up if necessary depending on kids' ages and interests. For me, CRT is something DD wants to do, and I hate to spend the money and force the boys to do that if they're not interested in it. Dinner last year was different, though, because they have to eat dinner anyway, so they can tolerate the princesses visiting.
