Any great ideas?
He's been to Animal Kingdom and DTD (day trip last year) but we have a President's Week trip planned.
Five nights, on-site, Magical Express and Dining Plan
We will be doing the Segway Tour at Epcot but I'm looking or ideas to make the entire trip "extra special".
He picked Artist Point for one night but left the rest of the planning up to me (Dinners-AP, LeCellier, Wolfgang Puck Cafe, 50sPT)
I'm planning on MK for our first day - he's never been, I haven't been since 88. But since he is really open to most anything and hasn't done the "full on Disney Experience" I would love some ideas to make the trip really special for him. Remember - no car, staying at POP.
I'm planning on MK for our first day - he's never been, I haven't been since 88. If our flight gets in on time (3:50PM on 2/20) I was thinking of heading to MK for a CS meal and some fun. Will it be too crazy busy? Is there something else that might be good? I'm a type-A, overplanner who really wants tomake the trip special.
Thanks so much...

It will be busy and since it will be his first time there I say take it easy. Utilize the fast pass system and take it easy.

Your flight arrives at 3:50, assuming you're on time you would be at your resort using ME around 5:30 / 6:00 PM. Bus/Boat/Monorail to MK after checkin another 30 - 60 minutes (7:00 PM)...not sure where you're staying. My advice....hunker down for the night.... maybe Epcot for dinner or PI, up early for MK the next morning to enjoy the full affect! Just my opinion, but it sounds like you may only get an hour or so at MK if you go the day you arrive. Oh, and get there
by 8:45 AM for a 9:00 AM open.......and then right to Space Mountain! Have fun!

Challenge one another to a few rounds of Buzz Lightyear to see who gets the highest score. Don't forget to get a shot of the two of you in front of the castle. Rides like Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean, Small World and Splash Mountain offer the chance to snuggle close and enjoy the Magic of Magic Kingdom. Have fun!

You know the guy better than we do, but I would suggest you make sure he *wants* you to be super-planning gal before you do so. If he would rather "relax and wing-it" sometimes, the way to make the trip special is to let him have his way (sometimes).

Thanks for some good ideas. It's been so long since I've been there that I have forgotten a lot but because I've been 20 times or so (most by the time I was in high school) I'm supposed to know what to do and make sure we don't "miss" anything. The one thing we know - NO SMALL WORLD! My entire life, I've hated that ride and he thinks it looks annoying - if only he knew.
He is all set to have a lot of fun, as long as I take care of the planning "since I like to do that."
We are more into hitting interesting special things (like the Segway Tour) than going commando style through the park.

Thanks again. And any 35 year old males that have Disney "favorites" let me know!

I used to be 35! EC: Bass Ale and Off Kilter or British Invasion! MGM: Millionaire and TOT...maybe even the Great Movie Ride. AK: Safari, Bugs Life, Dinasour, and Festival of the Lion King! MK: Buzz Lightyear as the previous poster said....take separate cars, and all of the mountain rides, POTC, HM and
the train ride!! Have fun!

Relax and do the grand tour of the majic kingdom hotels, on arrivial night. Have a drink at each hotel.

My advice when you are not in the parks is to just spend some time going to the monorail hotels...taking a walk onto the Polynesian beach near sundown to watch fireworks and see the water pageant. That's the kind of stuff my Boyfriend and I like to do.

Is he a real fun kind of guy? If so, take him for a haircut at the Barbershop and get him some colored hair gel!

If that's not his thing, my DH likes to rent the boats formerly known as Watermice at the Contemporary and buzz around the lake. He loves that!
