BOYCOTT Gasoline TODAY!!!!

This is apparantly not working in my town. As I passed several gas stations on my way to work and they all had what looked like normal amounts of people at them.

The price of gas just went down 15 cents today per litre in the Toronto area. I couldn't help but wonder if the boycott had anything to do with it, but I doubt it. We have had several increases in the past few weeks and the prices are a hot issue! We were glad to see some relief today but gas is still very expensive!

Quick....everybody head up to Toronto for gas.
:moped: ;) ;) ;)

I think the gas is still more expensive up here as we're paying by the litre (not the American gallon) and it's about 80-85 cents a litre! But of course, with the exchange, it might be a bargain after all!

There has got to be something the people CAN do about this. I drive 150 miles to and from work everyday. This is killing me!!!:scared1: Thank goodness I just got a raise, but I don't see it cause it goes into the gas tank.

There are lots of things that can be done, but they usually require some kind of personal sacrifice, and I don't mean a virgin in a volcano type of sacrifice, although.......

Anyway, we could all start using the hybrid vehicles or be more diligent about belonging to carpools. We could bike to work or we could all move closer to where we work and then walk.

Any of these things would be useful, but how practical are they for you? I personally don't want to move closer to my office and finding another job closer to where I live is not a viable option, right now.

They were talking about this on the radio... basically, they said it is a hoax, and comes out every year around Memorial Day!

I'll boycott today... and heck why not tomorrow ( I have 3/4 a tank left- should last me another few days :))

I'm sorry, but I'm heading out to buy gas right now. It's either today or tomorrow, and I won't have time tomorrow so I'm going today.

I am trying to do my part (and save money) by combining my errands into one trip, walking rather than driving to our neighborhood convenience store, going to our neighborhood park rather than driving to the more distant city park, etc. Those things lessen my demand for gas, at least a bit. I don't see how buying tomorrow rather than today will lessen my demand.

;)

(it actually IS out of my way by about 10 miles...I'm sacraficing my health to save a buck or two...hmmm...is that worth it?)

you could go jogging instead of driving to the gym....::yes:: ::yes::

Hey! I can do this one! I filled up yesterday!

I think I may do just the opposite -- fill up *today* instead of *tomorrow* so I avoid the rush tomorrow from all of those who boycotted today. :p

I stopped at the Racetrak by my house this morning to buy cokes and I was kidding with the attendant because no one was getting gas and she said that yesterday they were bombarded and could tell this morning that it was slow but what she said next really floored me, she said a normal day's sales on gasoline is $40,000, in one day for one store, WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, I filled up today before vacation. I thought it was strange I was the only one there. Now I know why.:teeth:

Well I got gas today because I'm heading to the lake tomorrow.. There were several cars waiting in line to get gas ($2.07 for unleaded regular) and when I went to pay the attendant I asked what the effect of this "boycott" will be..

The reply was that gasoline with be HIGHER tomorrow.. So much for hurting the oil companies..

The only way to make a significant impact is through personal choices that many will find uncomfortable or not be willing to do..

Trade in the SUV's and other gas guzzlers and purchase a car that gets higher mileage..

Don't use the boat this summer.. Prices at the lake marinas will be significantly higher than on-the-road gas stations.. Ditto for the jet skis..

Car pool or take public transportation to work..

Eliminate vacations that require a lengthy drive..

If all of the above were to take place you might see an affect on the oil companies - but boycotting for one day? LOL You're going to pay DEARLY for that tomorrow!!

My family is also doing it share.... not that we actually planned it, just dont need any gas today..:)

this thread was not meant to be a debate just posting what I heard on the News this morning.

If you choose to supported it that is great-thank you.

If you didn't that is fine too, that is what makes each of us different and America the Great Country she is today.
