bows for baby girls?

Those are hard to keep on their head, but they're very cute. I have several from when dd was a baby. She had tons of hair though, so I didn't use them much.

I've never been a fan of bows on babies. All I seem to notice is the bow and it overshadows the beautiful, little face.

Cute-until she starts pulling them off. :)

I had to give DD bangs at age 1 because she would not keep in any barretts or ponytails. And then she would put them in her mouth after she took them out. Talk about a choking hazard!

Personally, I think they're cute if the bow is not super huge. I think they are cuter on bald babies though. My first had some hair, not a ton, but enough and they just looked weird on her. My youngest was totally bald when she was born (she's 11 months now and still only has some peach fuzz) and I thought the bows looked adorable on her.
My sister however, thinks they look dumb on bald babies and better if the baby has hair.
So, if you like them, order them!
Oh and some are too tight if your child has a large head. Youngest DD has a bigger head (80th percentile) and some of the bows we had would leave elastic marks on her head they were so tight. Obviously we didn't have her wear those!

They are cute but I never had any luck keeping anything in DD's hair. It's very fine and she'd just tug a little on it and the bow or barrett would just come out. She does like to sometimes wear headbands but is very particular about the type. I'd try putting one on and see how your DD is with it before ordering a bunch. If nothing else you should be able to keep it in place to at least get some great pictures.

::yes::

NOt a fan of those things at all. Begged my sisters not to put them on my nieces. Would not display any pictures that had them. All I saw was the stupid bow and not the face.

Taping bows in the hair is just as bad.

That being said, it is just my opinion AND not my child

My SIL got me a bunch of alligator clip bows for my daughter because she said they stayed in her daughter's hair, but they just slide out of my daughter's head. She had a velcro bow that worked for a little while, but now she just rips it out. We use mostly headband types now, if I do put a bow in her hair which is rare, since we lost so many alligator clip types. I do think they look cute and it usually stops people from telling me what a cute little boy I have, I just got tired of losing them.

Be careful with the barretts, my daughter swallowed hers and we had to have it surgically removed. Very traumatic for my wife and I(although it didn't really bother my daughter). We can laugh about it now(plus we have a neat xray):teeth:

I don't like them. I REALLY don't like the huge ones that are bigger then the poor kids head!!

There's a woman on a parenting board I'm on them that uses them all the time, she has one that looks like a large head of leafy lettuce - yup, that's a good look.

I only like the soft colour bows, like the one in the photo. My Mum used to put one in my hair when I was younger. :)

I don't like headbands and bows though - far too much fuss!

For little ones the only kind I had any luck with was the velcro ones. As soon as they could reach their head they would pull them out and that was the end of it.

Once the older one turned 3 she was mildly interested, at 4 very interested... Funny though, she would never wear a hat and our younger DD wears hats all the time at 2...
