Does anyone one know if Disney floral use david austin roses or other similar roses? what are the tall bluish spikey plants (I told you I know nothing about flowers :rotfl:)

what flowers would you put with them as fillers? I like the fluffy romantic style bouquets.

any ideas if these flowers are available in October? and how much they cost??

Those are beautiful roses.

I cant answer your question but have you checked out the bouquet thread http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1969656&page=10&highlight=escape+bouquet

I've found it really useful to just look and see what other brides have had. Everyone seems to rave about the Disney florist so I'm sure she must know her flowers. I intend to email pictures of the type of flowers I want along with the shape of the bouquet.

Thanks Pinkgirl - I have checked out the bouquet thread and although there all lovely there just not me - apart from the peony ones (and they are out of season in Oct :( )

Good idea about just emailng the pics!

I think David Austin roses are a name brand of garden roses. I'd ask for those when you meet with your floral planner. They are usually used as less expensive options when peonies are out of season.

Im pretty sure they are peonies :(but its a lovely bouquet and the kind of lovely fluffy look that I want to go for!

I talked to my mom who is very floral-oriented and she said that some good floral fillers would be larkspur and delphimun [spelling may be off on that one]. David Austin Roses are actually a type of rose, Disney Floral should know what they are.

As well, another flower similar to peonies is Ranunculus . It's a lot like a peony. No clue on price but there is some examples. Other fluffy romantic style flowers would be hydrangea.

Hope that helps! My mom has a degree in Horticulture so she loves floral.

You could always go with artificial flowers if the ones you love are out of season. I think another bride was able to get artificial flowers through Disney and they were beautiful.

:flower3: Since I was a kid I have always wanted pink Peonies. Unfortunately, my wedding is 11/11/11 and they are only available May-July. :sad1: Disney offered me Garden Roses, which look almost exactly alike- but here's the catch. You have to buy the ENTIRE box since it is a Premium Flower. And that is $785.00 (for 72 stems). You can get a bouquet of silk peonies from Disney- for $200.00. It's all pretty outrageous. If you are dying for those, as am I, you can buy the silk flowers at Michael's for $6.99 per stem (they are beautiful and absolutely cannot tell one bit they are fake) and fashion the bouquet yourself with floral tape or ribbon, or you can purchase from an outside vendor that may be able to get the Garden Roses (and possibly even actual Peonies). Or, of course, find a completely different flower and find a way to deal. Whatever you do, I wish you the best and hope you're happy. Any more questions, feel free to pm me! :thumbsup2

I had not considered a silk/fake flowers but I guess it makes more sense for bridal shoots on another day.
im a little scared they could potentially look very fake and be a dissappointment - has anyone see photos of fake disney bouquets??

thats a good price - i think i would be worried about having flowers delivered to my disney resort - incase they did not arrive in time!!
Also as I will be an escape bride - I suppose I should really use disney bridal and save myself some pennies though!?
