Bounce Back Offers

We are making a short stay at AKL in a couple weeks. This is our first trip to WDW. I'm already thinking and preliminarily planning a longer trip. Is there a good chance we'll receive a bounce back offer? If so, what could I reasonably hope to get? I'm hoping for a significant discount on the deluxe resorts(maybe a pipe dream?). Are the bounce back offers resort specific?

Does being a first time visitor increase one's chance of getting an offer (hoping to hook us into the Disney aura)?? I have no idea of what kind of bounce back offers are even out there?? I'd appreciate any experienced DISers thoughts. Thanks!

Check the package you get when you check in. Inside the Be Our Guest Guide, the bounceback offer should be right in the middle of the booklet.

I believe that the Bounceback offer is the same for everybody during a given time period, but I know that sometimes the brochure gets left out of your room packet. If you don't get a brochure with your check in materials, call extension 8844 from your resort room (before checking out) and ask if they are offering any bounceback offer. Pin codes are a more individual way of getting discounts, and they are assigned to your individual Disney account and you find out about them by receiving an e-mail or by calling Disney.

We booked our bounceback last September for 1 year later and are very glad we did. With their cancellation policy it isn't a big deal if you have to cancel, and booking the trip before you check out locks in the deal. Enjoy!

I wouldn't pass up on a bounceback offer if it fits your potential plans. You can always ask if there is a PIN associated with your account when you call to book, but I wouldn't avoid booking a bounceback in hopes of a later getting a better individual offer.

Under the current bounceback offer, the deluxe discount is 30% or 35% off (I think 35%). It's a pretty hefty discount. The PINs I've gotten lately have been about the same, and limited to certain resorts or room type - for example, at AKL we like to stay CL or savannah view, and with the PIN or our AP discount those room types either haven't qualified or have only been offered at 5% off. With the bounceback, you can get the 35% off a CL or savannah view room, as long as there's availability. So, I wouldn't wait for a PIN that you may or may not get, and may or may not work for the room type you want. Also, if you book a bounceback and then get a PIN that will give you a better rate, you can just call Disney and have them apply the PIN instead of the bounceback rate, as long as there are rooms available that qualify for the PIN.

Also, not sure when you're planning on going back, but be aware the current bounceback offer is only for certain dates through the end of this year. They usually start offering bouncebacks for the next calendar year in the fall. So if you're looking to go in 2014, you may not be able to use the current bounceback offer.

Also, a bit , but if your two trips will total more than 10 days or so and will be within a year of each other, you might want to consider getting an annual pass rather than a ticket now and a ticket later. It will give you a 10% discount on most merchandise, some resort discounts, and the ability to purchase the Tables in Wonderland card which gives you discounts on a bunch of restaurants. You can upgrade a regular ticket to an AP and just pay the difference in price, so you can use your regular ticket to make sure you like the resort and want to go back before committing to an AP.

Also your check in date has to be on a date the bounceback is offered and you only get the discount on the select dates.

For myself, I would have had to book two reservations, one for 4 days at regular price (although another discount could be applied to this ressie if available) and another ressie for 7 nights on the bounceback. I was going to book the first as a package and the bounceback as a room only.

I decided not to book as I will be going to DL later this year (hopefully). But it was a good deal 20-35% off depending on the level of resort (35% being deluxe).

All great information. I didn't realize my bounce back date would be in 2013. That might be tough. I'd like to go at a time it's warm enough to take advantage of the fabulous resort pools. I'm not sure we could count on that in november or December even if we could get away. There are so many things to learn about getting a so-called deal at Disney.

I think the room discount would be better for us. I'm not convinced FD would be that beneficial even though our child would be a Disney child. 1) we don't drink pop with meals 2) we all wouldn't want dessert with our meals (I'd rather have an ice cream or dole whip later or have some flexibility) and 3) I can envision wanting an app vs an entree. So it seems my timing may be a bit off if we can't swing another trip by the end of the year. Oh well. Worst case I can be happy at WH or other off site locale if we have to. Just have a fantasy of having a long stay onsite while my son is so young. I've been on this site a lot over the last couple months and have figured out I'd want a deluxe. My resort and room are important to me while I'm vacationing. I would want down time to relax at the resort.
