bounce back offers - explain to me please!

So my understanding is while I am staying at WDW, I will be given the chance to book another trip before I leave.

When can you schedule the "return" trip for?

How much is the discount? Is it better than the codes you might get sent?

Do you always get a bounce back offer or just some guests?

Do you have to stay a minimum amount of nights to get the offer?

My plan is to go in Dec '12 for maybe 3 nights. I am hoping to get a bounce back offer & will schedule a trip for 7 nights in October '13. We would be staying at the All Star Music if that matters. Also, we do not do the DDP so would want room only discounts--does the bounce back offer that or is it just for packages?

Is there anything else I need to know or be aware of about bounce backs?

When can you schedule the "return" trip for? 99% of the time when you book a bounceback, you have to return within the same year of your current trip

How much is the discount? It varies...Sometimes its 30% off a room, sometimes it's 40%, sometimes its free dining. I believe currently the bounceback is 35%off Is it better than the codes you might get sent? Once again, it really does vary, sometimes yes, sometimes no. IMHO, its save to say it will never be worse than a current GP discount or PIN

Do you always get a bounce back offer or just some guests? If you find that one isn't left in your room, their is a number to call from your room, I believe its 8844(Someone will have to confirm for you

Do you have to stay a minimum amount of nights to get the offer? Not that I am aware of...but I only travel once a year so my trips are always 5+ days

As far as an Oct. 13 discount, it shouldn't be a problem. I am not positive, but I would believe its based on a package, but hey, if the discount covers the cost to add the dining plan on, its like getting a FD bounceback

If you want to book a bounceback you have to put a deposit down BEFORE you check out

How much is the discount? Depends up to 40% depending on the resort. Could be free dining instead of discount. Is it better than the codes you might get sent? Sometimes if you want to take that risk but if you book & if you get a better code you can change

Do you always get a bounce back offer or just some guests?Should be a bounce back sheet in every room if not ask your housekeeper

Most of them are packages you can get the quick service to save money & yes you can book for the year 2013 . I booked mine this past Dec for next Dec..

Is there anything else I need to know or be aware of about bounce backs? Just book it before you go and put down a $200 deposit on it & don't get insurance with it until you pay the final payment. GOOD LUCK

If you do not have a bounce back "sheet" in the room ask at the front desk and they can get you one. We had to book ours before the last day of our trip. If this means anything to you, we had originally booked for August '12 but we needed to change it to May '12, still kept the bounce back rate.

We also asked for any PINs/codes for the period we booked and they told us what we had was the best we could get.

More often than not, the BB offer has not been in the room.

People don't read the fine print, most likely, grab them and take them home, thinking they will just deal with it when they finish their trip.

Then they get home and realize it had to be booked while still at the resort and they get tossed.

I bet Disney has had to print gazillions of them.
