Bounce back - modify once booked?

I looked through a couple of pages of search results, but didn't see an answer.

We booked a bounceback on Jan. 2 before we left the World. When I called to make it, I asked the CM to look up a lot of different resorts b/c I wasn't sure what DH would go for. I decided on Poly, but I asked her if I could make changes to the reservation afterwards (like normal). She said yes, as long as there were rooms still available, etc. I then asked if I could even change the resort - we might need to go cheaper. She said yes.

Today, I called WDW on another matter, and randomly decided to ask today's CM the same question about switching resorts on a bounceback. She said no.

If CM #2 is correct, then this is really, really annoying b/c I would have booked POR instead if I knew we couldn't change it. There is also nothing in the reservation confirmation I got that states no changes allowed. It also carries the normal 5 day cancellation policy.

Anyone have any experience changing dates or resorts with a bounceback offer?

Last week I was able to switch resorts on our bounce back offer.
And it was a cost savings to a moderate.

Yes, as long as there is availability at the resort you want, you can change your ressie. Sometimes guest services has to check availability/make the change if the reservation CM can't, but it can be done . I have never had trouble making changes to resorts/dates with bouncebacks, pin codes, etc (even if they were expired) as long as what I wanted was available .

You can make changes to bouncebacks. I have done it twice without any problem. If you get a CM that says you cannot change, either ask for Guest Services or end the call then call back and get a CM that knows how to modify a bounceback

We were still in WDW at this time but in August 2010 my family and I had a Bounceback reservation at the Contemporary for December 2010, however we wanted to switch to the Boardwalk Inn and we had no problems making that change.

I think I've made changes every single time I booked a bounceback .

I've done it back and forth between 2 resorts last year a few times and it was no problem.

I don't understand bouncebacks. We were at WDW for the past 7 days and I didn't get any offer to come back. How and how often does this occur?
