I know this has been asked a million times on here but of course now that I want to know I can't find it. My husband and I are taking an anniversery trip in Sept and would like to take the whole family back next May. How does the bounce back work, what discounts do they usually offer and are the bounce backs always available? Also how much of a deposit to you have to leave?

Deposit for the packages is $200 per room, for a room only BB (if one is offered) it's one night room rate & tax. Both are refundable according to normal booking rules. You must give the deposit at the time of booking, and you must book before you check out of your resort.

Not all dates are offered. Typically during Sept. there are free dining BB offers. Last year we booked a BB in Sept. and the only dates offered for free dining were 8/15 - 9/30. The public offer currently out is from 8/15 - 10/2. There may also have been a room discount with no free dining covering those dates and a few other dates. I don't recall seeing May 2010 dates offered in Sept. 2009.

I know this has been asked a million times on here but of course now that I want to know I can't find it - I dont mind helping you out but you really couldn't find it. If you type bounceback into the search tool about 500 posts pop up..

My husband and I are taking an anniversery trip in Sept and would like to take the whole family back next May. Like the previous poster said if it is offered all you have to do is pay the deposit. If you don't see anything in your room when you arrive - call.

How does the bounce back work, what discounts do they usually offer and are the bounce backs always available? The dates available vary greatly depending on the time of year. We went at Easter this year and the bounceback was only through Dec. 2010. Also how much of a deposit to you have to leave?

Good luck and I hope you get the offer you are looking for. We are going back Dec. 16-24 on a 35% off bounceback.

Bounceback offers are offers to resort guests to entice you to book a return trip to WDW before you even leave from your current stay. They vary during the year, and are not always available.

You must book and deposit BEFORE check out. You usually see a flyer in your room or on the room TV, though sometimes no one (front desk, housekeeping, etc.) seems to know anything about them. So the best way to make sure what BB is being offered during your stay is to call extension 8844 from your resort room.

You do not have to return to the same resort or category that you are currently staying at, and will have to put down a deposit before you leave.

You can only book BB rooms based on the current guests, i.e. no booking for other people who are not with you - though DISers have reported having the DH book one room and the DW another in order to have 2 BB rooms.

To give you an example of a BB, the current BB offer is:

Get 20% off a Select Disney VALUE Resort: 1/3-1/14/2010, 1/18-2/11, 2/15-3/27, 4/11-7/1, 7/5-11/23, 11/28-12/24/2010

Get 35% off a Select Disney MODERATE Resort: 1/3-1/14, 1/18-2/11, 2/15-3/27, 4/11-7/1, 7/5-11/23, 11/28-12/24/2010

Get 40% off WILDERNESS CABINS: 1/3-1/14, 1/18-2/11, 2/15-3/27, 4/11-7/1, 7/5-11/23, 11/28-12/24/2010

Get 40% off a Select Disney DELUXE Resort: 1/3-1/14, 1/18-2/11, 2/15-3/27, 4/11-7/1, 7/5-11/23, 11/28-12/24/2010

Get 45% off a Select Disney DELUXE VILLA Resort: 1/3-1/14, 1/18-2/11, 2/15-3/27, 4/11-7/1, 7/5-9/30/2010 (Offer excludes 3 bedroom grand villas) * Note: another nice DISer added these dates for the Villas 8/15-11/23 and 11/28-12/16/2010)

This BB offer will probably expire when people start arriving for Free Dining in August, and a new one will probably start.

The last few years the BB during the FD period (Aug-Oct) is to be able to book a FD package a year ahead for the next years (2011) FD dates (usually Aug-Sept/Oct). You would put down a $200 deposit and have until 45 days prior to pay - no room discount, but you will have best resort availability and the guarantee of knowing you are getting FD saves a lot of anxiety wondering if they are going to offer it or not.

Based on this, the sad part for you is that:

1) you probably won't get any May BB dates when you go in September, but will probably get the FD BB. You probably can book a return FD package for next Aug-Sept/Oct 2011 (not May though)
2) even if you decide to do those dates instead of May, you probably can't book enough rooms to take everyone back with you unless you can all fit in 2 rooms (by using both names on the BB res) ;)

BTW, May 2011 dates will probably be on the BB room discount offer that will open after the FD BB offer expires, probably in October. Maybe you'll have to talk DH into making a 2nd trip down to be able to book then :cutie:

So,

when we go in July, we will only have a BB for 2010 right? Will we get a BB for 2011 ever since they are offered before we check out?

Of course things might change at any time, but when you go in July you will probably only get the same BB offer above that has dates through Dec 2010.

For you to get any 2011 dates on a BB, you probably will have to stay in Aug-Sept/Oct (and it will be for a Free Dining BB for next years FD dates in Aug-Sept/Oct 2011), or in Oct/Nov when the next BB after the FD one will start (and will be for a room discount including 2011 dates). For example, last year the FD BB started on 8/16/09 (for 8/15-9/30/10 dates) and ran through 10/24/09 when it expired and the room discount BB above started.

Clear as mud, right? Just remember to call extension 8844 from your resort room and see what you can do. Good luck!

I have an existing reservation for December and we are heading down next week.

When I get to our hotel next Wednesday, can I call the bounceback number and apply the 35% bounceback offer to our existing reservation?

Well other DISers have posted that they did just that, so I would call extension 8844 and try it for sure! :goodvibes

I think the only problems might be if there is no availability left for your dates, or if you made your original res through a travel agent. I don't know if they would let you change anything on the res if you used a TA. :confused3
Hopefully they would, but it could be that you might have to book another res directly while you are there and then cancel the original res.

Also keep in mind last year in July lots of December deals came out, so this may not be the last time you would be modifying your res.

Well I just got back. I called from my room last week to try and get BB for our return trip in Jan 2011. Not available. I was bummed. The rates are only thru 2010.
