We are planning on going to WDW in August 2021, and have been looking at AOA suites for our family of 5 (me, DH, and 3 adult DDs). This would give us 2 bathrooms and a little more space. Boulder Ridge Villas is coming up at almost the same price as AOA for the dates we are there. Has anyone stayed here with 5 adults? Any thoughts?

I am hoping for a room only discount at AOA. Are the Villas usually included in the discounts?

Thank you!

I wouldn't attempt 5 people in a BRV studio. They weren't built to fit 5 but a small Murphy bed was added to accommodate 5. To make room for that little bed, a lot of storage space was sacrificed. We stayed in a BWV studio (same configuration) and it was tight fitting clothes for 2 people in the itty bitty drawers. Then there's the question of where to stow the luggage (hint: under the bed is not an option).

And as you know, there's only one bathroom in a BRV studio. That in and of itself would be enough to deter me.

5 adults in any studio is really crowded. As @marionette mentioned, the 5th sleeping surface is a small murphy bed that might be able to fit someone under 5 feet.

The 5 of you sharing 1 bathroom will be really tough.

As you mention, the AOA suite will give you more space and 2 bathrooms.

I wouldn't put 5 adults in a BRV studio. Since you are considering the AoA suite, you may also want to consider 2 standard rooms at Pop - you would then get 4 beds and two bathrooms. You can request connecting though it's not guaranteed. The 2 rooms may price out less than the AoA suite and you will still have Skyliner access from Pop.

Just for another point of view...

We do 5 adults in BRV all the time. Our two girls (28 and 20 yrs. old) use the sofa bed (no complaints) and 26-year-old boy uses the pull-down (he's 5'11"). Guys shower at night and ladies do their thing in the morning. We sometimes are on different schedules as well, early risers leaving for the parks while young-uns sleep in after a late night at Disney Springs.

We stay 8-10 nights and each person brings carry-on luggage only. Everything fits in the closet. We are experienced travelers who can spend 3 weeks in Europe, carry-on only no trouble.

We also don't bring the kitchen sink. We know we can buy anything we might need once there, no need to bring things you might not ever need. We have a grocery order delivered and use delivery to get anything else necessary after arrival.

Would do this for the amenities of Wilderness Lodge over that of AoA any day.

It is not perfect but it works for us.

Thank you for all of your replies! I really appreciate the input. I think we will stick with the suite at AOA (for the extra bathroom and more space). We have never stayed at that resort, so we are looking forward to checking it out!

Only way five people fit in a studio that officially sleeps five is if the five are two adults and three children not three teens.

Unless you are my family of 5 adults who do it at Boulder Ridge 2-3 times a year...
