Actually pretty excited about this. My husband never goes to Disney, just not his thing, but he is coming down for the game then flying back after the weekend (we are staying for the week). I'm pretty excited and hope he has a good time. Ironically, while my son and I don't like the FP+ limitations my DH will probably like it because it means we will book our top rides, see a few things in the evening and then go! Lol, I'm looking forward to a fun time. :). Any advice on spring training? Our game is at 1 pm on a Sunday. Oh, and fingers crossed our MBs work flawlessly because to him time is money! Us, eh, we are on vacation :)

We are going in March and my husband wants to see a game. I had sticker shock when I started looking at tickets. The prices are more than we pay for regular season games.

I'm sure he'll enjoy the game. We always got mini packages when we lived down there and would have gone more often if we could have!!
Have been a Braves fan for years, long before we moved to FL, but living in PA we had never seen them play in person.
It's such a nice stadium, nice size, etc. And I really miss going since we moved back up north. We always had good seats -- usually in the same section each time. We could reserve our seats early because of buying the packages each time.
Have fun!!
:thumbsup2

I've always wanted to go to one of these! When I was a kid my dad and I took a helicopter ride over Orlando and we saw the fields below....are there tickets still on sale, or do they generally go pretty fast?

I'm sure you'll have a great time! DH and I want to go one day, just waiting for the kids to get a little older/more controllable! lol

I got tickets to the March 12th game. Can't wait to see Bryce Harper. He helped win me a Fantasy championship last year. I have been to spring training in the cactus league several times but this will be my first grapefruit league game. All spring training prices went up this year. Cactus league prices jumped also.

Tickets go on sale to the general public in early January. The first time we bought, we stood in line A LONG TIME to get tickets.
There are always some tickets left even on game day as long as you aren't picky about location. The ones that sell out are the big name teams (who have lots of fans living in FL) like the Yankees, etc. Those often have standing room only tickets and sell out quicker than the others.
Season ticket holders take up a lot of the really really good seats.
You can buy tickets any time the box office is open -- don't have to wait for game day if you're in the area.
:cheer2:

Last I checked there were still seats at some of the games. Here is the link with lots of information. http://espnwwos.disney.go.com/events/pro/braves-spring-training/ :)

We have seen regular season games but this was something new to try. Plus, my husband just is not a big Disney fan but this gave a reason to come for the weekend (well, that and spending time with us :goodvibes). By the way, I reread my post and my husband is not some unreasonable guy and often takes lots of time off when he can but he would rather hike the mountains, explore a country, or ride down a trail rather than the whole theme park scene. I read my first post and the whole "time is money thing" I posted didn't seem right. I think all I mean is he doesn't enjoy standing around!

I'm really looking forward to it. :lovestruc

This was the only way I talked my hubby into going to Disney this year! We are going in March, staying at AKL and DS and I will go to the Parks, while he goes to Lakeland to watch the Tigers play twice and we will all see the Braves vs Tigers game at WDW!
