I am hoping to have a few minutes to play a bit tonight. I am having problems when I use the small font size, it is hard to get the adhesive squares on the back. I was a bit frustrated last night, so I bought a glue pen today, thought I might try that. Anyone else have any pointers??

I'm right there with you! In fact I was just popping over to this board to see if anyone had any ideas! DH gave me the cricut & 3 fonts for Christmas...I was playing today & I'm having a heck of a time getting the letters (especially the smaller ones) OFF the mat!!!!

Do you have a xyron? Once I actually get them off I run them thru my xyron.

I don't have that, but someone did mention it to me today. To get them off the mat I use my small cutting knife that I use for cutting circles, ect. I think it cuzzles??? You can buy a cricut kit, with the tools to get them off the mat.

I run them thru my Zyron its the only way to go.

I've been playing with my Cricut too. For me, I found it best to look over the manual that came with each cartridge. To take the cuts off the mat, I've been using the CM multi purpose tool. It's also helpful to adjust the tension and the speed (knobs on the left) depending on the paper weight I am using. For those cuts where the paper wasn't cut all the way through, I finish the cut with an exacto knife.

Right now I have George and Christmas Cheer cartridge. I made butterflies last night with the Christmas Cheer cartridge.

You may want to go to the Community Board at www.cricut.com. Lots of helpful info there.
