Bought Aulani Today

I was just thinking of that. I know Pete and the gang are nuts about Disneyland but I never had a desire to go. A layover on the way to Hawaii might be a great idea. Especially if I have some points I could use as VGC (we have some SSR points we can use). I'd have to book in the 7 month window though. Is that even possible or is VGC sold out all the time like BCV?

OK....wondering the same thing....thought a DLR-layover was the best way to go too. I figured we would stay for 3 days, then on to Aulani for 5 days. If it weren't for wanting to see DLR so badly I don't know that I'd ever make it to Aulani from the East Coast. I just don't know that there is enough to see or do there to travel for so many miles, or to go for an entire vacation either.

Believe it or not, this trip is slated to be our big vacation in 2013. We only own at BLT so I am hoping I can snag VGC & Aulani at 7 months. Curious if anybody has feedback on what would be the best time of year to hope for a shot at both resorts at 7-months.

Can someone explain the fixed week the OP mentioned?

The "fixed week" is something new to DVC just for Aulani. 35% of the Hawaiian DVC units have been set aside for s fixed week instead of points ... Which is like a traditional timeshare. They pay less and don't get the flexabiliry of points - just one weeks accomodation each year.

The concern for many DVCers is whether these fixed weekers will grab all the rime weeks - Christmas, New Years, Presidents so people with points can't get in at those peak times.

It was not a concern for us cause we never travel at peak times.
