bottled Water?

ok so i've heard the tip to bring your own water, (due to high cost, and fountain water tasting ecky )
and i have also read that disney parks dont let you bring your own water nor your own sacks... ?
soo.... how do people get away with it?

we just got back from WDW last week. we took a bag into each park, had extra sweatshirts, shorts, etc and we put water in those. Never had a problem. Security checked the bags and never said a word.

I read somwhere on the boards before we went that peopel were taking in food, sandwiches wrapped up and no one said a word.

We bring our own water and snacks in the parks and have never had a problem.

Whoever told you this was very wrong.

People bringing food into the parks are not "getting away with anything." It's totally permitted. Just no glass containers (except baby food jars ARE allowed). Soft-sided coolers are OK, too. Every day we brought in numerous bottles of water, many snacks, and a sandwich for each kid just in case they got too picky, plus fruit for my wife and me. On 2 separate days we brought in a full lunch for all 4 grown-ups and 2 kids. We hid NOTHING, security went through EVERYTHING. Go ahead and bring food in -- trust the veterans here on the DIS.

We take our own water into the parks on every trip......I bought insulated water bottle holders with plastic pop top bottles in them. They're on a strap.
I think the name is Arctic bottles (?) not sure. We buy gallon bottles of water at the grocery store and every evening I fill the plastic bottles half full and put in the freezer. Then in the morning before we leave just fill the rest of way with more water and we've got nice fresh water all day. I think the bottles each hold 32 oz. We've never had anyone say anything to us about carrying them and they're plainly visible hanging on a strap over our shoulder.

We ordered three cases of Nestle water through Staples and had it delivered to our hotel (Pop Century). The total cost for 72 bottles of water was about $15. Shipping is free if you sign up for the Staples rewards club (or something like that).

Our DD is still a stroller child, so we'd just load up the stroller basker with 8 bottles or so of water in the morning. Like others have said, it was no problem with security. I drink a lot of water so this little trick (that I learned about from the Budget Board) saved us TONS of money.

Like the pp. We just got back and always brought in our own water and snacks. They always checked our bags and never had a problem. We got a locker and kept a lot of the things in there and just went back when we needed to get more water or snacks for the kids.

We've done it twice and both times we ordered the water about 5 days before our arrival. On our last trip, we ordered our water on Monday for our arrival on Saturday. We errored on the side of the water being there for a couple of days before our arrival. The hotel (Pop Century) seemed to have no problem with this at all. Just make sure that you include your reservation number and date of arrival on your Staples delivery info.
