Any suggestions for a plan of attack? This is the first time we will be at Universal. I am new at the boards so this may have already been disussed a hundred times. Thanks for your advice!

It probably depends on the time of year and how busy things are. Of course, it also depends on what kind of rides you like. The roller coasters will have longer lines. You might want to get the Express Pass if you want to do everything. It will get you in each ride quickly once.

Short answer.. yes... but that goes with the assumption that you don't try to do EVERYTHING in that one day.. and thay you are willing to "rush through" all the main attractions.

I would suggest doing one of them for one day, and slowing down the pace and really enjoy it.. and then plan to try the next one for the next trip.

Both great responses and I completely agree. If you're going after Harry Potter opens, you probably won't be able to do much in a single day because of the lines and crowds. If you can take two days, I think you'd enjoy it more.

We were just there the Sunday before Thanksgiving. Went to US first to get on Rip Ride Rocket and rode all major attractions and had lunch by 1 pm. Then went to IOA and by 5 pm, we were finished. We did not see any shows this time (like Beetlejuice) but did do things like Shrek. No FOTL was no problem.

We could have last year when we were there, but the parks were extremely slow, almost and errie feeling, but it was nice for the rides. We still however chose to do each park on a separate day, as we had purchased a two day pass. Also keeping in mind it was our third time to the parks so we knew what we wanted to go on and what not to waste our time waiting for.

I think you would enjoy the parks much more if you did one each day. My greatest suggestion is to be there before the gates open.

For Islands, run and I mean run (or certainly a fast walk) to the Hulk. You might just get to ride that twice if your there first thing. We found by being there before the gate opened and being one of the first thru, you're ahead of the lines.

For Universal, again, be there before the gates open ,it's an early morning getting up, ready, breakfast and being there before 9am, I aim for latest 8:15 in the parking lot, as it a little walk to the park, but it's so worth it. I would go to the Mummy first, or actually now that new ride Rip Ride Roller coaster, get on those first, then enjoy the rest of your day.

One year we bought the Express Pass, but didn't for others.

Have fun!

In slow time you can do the highlights of both parks. There are lots of lowlights that are worth seeing that you won't get the chance to see. It will give you a nice taste for the parks though as long as you don't rush around and take the time to actually enjoy what you are doing.
