Anyone care to share airfares they have managed to book?? Just started looking and they seem high. It is our February School vacation week and that could explain it. Any tips/insights would be appreciated. Thanks

I booked back in April for this time frame and paid $214.00 flying on Song. Our dates are Tuesday 2/15- Friday 2/25
On the 15th we have a 7pm flight so the kids will miss Wed, Thurs and Friday of school. Plus if you checkin by 2/16 you get value season rates.

Are your dates flexible?

It seems that unless you're willing to have your kids miss three or more days of school, you're looking at a minimum of $520 r-t. The best fares I've seen have been on www.JetBlue.com, as the Song fares are in the $620 range. This is of course for non-stop flights; you can get a more reasonable by taking a connecting flight

I wish you the best of luck with it, I purchase as soon as available for Feb 19th through Feb 27th as we are taking a cruise and I was lucky enough to get them for $212.00 each round trip for the 4 of us direct flights on Song out of Logan.

DH was up and on Song's website last March right at the 331 day mark to buy our tickets to Ft Myers, we paid around $250 non stop round trip. The same flights are now up over $600. Pumpkinboy has the right idea that you can probably find cheaper flights if you are willing to make a stop somewhere.

We are also flying out on Weds the 16th, and coming back to Boston on the 25th.

Good Luck!

We booked ours about a month ago for just around $300 each. We are flying out of Logan on the 11th for a cruise and returning on the 26th.

We are going down on American Air for $73 one way and coming home on JetBlue for $226. I found these rates through Orbitz and then booked them direct thru American and Jet Blue in order to avoid their booking fee.

Had I known the dates earlier, I would have booked as early as possible. But....as usual....hindsight is always 20/20.

Keep checking every day. Also....can you manage Providence or Hartford, or even Manchester? This may help you save a little.

Good luck!

Thanks everyone. My DS has the week of 2/21 - 2/27 off from school. I'm a Disney Vacation Club member and have 89 points I have to use, so my DH suggested a trip for just my DS and I, and he will stay home and remodel the bathroom. LOL He's a strange guy at times. LOL So that's why I am planning so late. So I will keep looking.

In the past I have booked real early and watched the prices fluctuate, so I am hoping for the best. Thanks again.

The rates are always high during the presidents week from the northeast to anywhere in Florida. We book in April for presidents week and are paying about 300 R/T from New York to FLL. We always travel over holiday periods and the cheap fares are usually gone with a month or two. As others have posted you will need to make a connection to get a good rate.

I just plugged some dates in on Independence Air's site for you. For Feb 21st...all your flights would be $99 BOS-MCO.
For Feb 28th...all your flights would be $99 MCO-BOS but if you needed to come back on the 26th or 27th, the fare would be $194.
So if you had flexibility in your dates a little, it could cost you as little as $200 plus taxes...check them out www.flyi.com. We'll be using them for the first time in less than 3 weeks out of Dulles!

Hope this helps!
