Big deal! Identical records, virtually same head to head! But hey, at least Darth Steinbrenner made that shrewd move of getting Randy Johnson to beat the Red Sox and boy did it pay off...the Yankees won exactly one more head to head game.
All that matters is the end result...the big prize...the world Championship! And this will be another year in which the yankees will not get there!!! Woo-hoo!!!

I'm pulling for the White Sox and anyone that plays against the Yankees!!!

OMG!! I am still in shock!! There are six of us in our fam. and 3 love the cubs and 3 love the white sox.

We are also divided on yanks and red sox. Last year the yanks fans in our family were gloating by game 3 but by game 7 we were the ones gloating LOL

Now if only I can get our little grandson to be a white sox fan without his mommy finding out ...hmmm maybe i will start buying him white sox outfits??

Another RED Sox fan here who is sad with the way our season ended, but would be very happy to see the White Sox break their dry spell this year like we did last year!!!

I admit the Yankees had the biggest choke of all last year.
But as a baseball fan, I also saw the Red Sox choked this year. They had first place practically locked in, but they slipped in September.
I also think the Yankees aren't as good as the other teams in the playoffs.

Question for both Yankees and Red Sox fans:

Do you think it would have been better if the Division Champ/Wild Card would have been reversed resulting in better match-ups? I know that some of the Red Sox had said (prior to the LDS) that they were glad they got the WC because they liked getting the White Sox. In truth, this year, the Red Sox played much better against the Angels. From my point of view as a Yankees' fan, I really wanted no part of the Angels as historically they've had the Yankees' number and have, to this point in our LDS, proved this. (It's looking like this might be a replay of '02. Yanks win game one, then lose the series.) I truly feel that both the Yanks and the Red Sox would have had a better chance at the ALCS if the roles had been reversed.

In truth, this year I'm really just glad that the Yanks even made the playoffs. They had such an up and down season, I'm happy they're still playing, even though tomorrow may end up being their last game

My sympathies to you Red Sox fans (I'm not being sarcastic). I know it hurts when your team loses.
