Boston help?

Several people have mentioned the Freedom Trail--make sure you walk it all the way to the end, especially if you're a history buff. It will take you into Charlestown where you can get a free tour of the USS Constitution (not on Mondays, though) and climb to the top of the Bunker Hill Monument which will give you a phenomenal view of the Boston skyline.

If you plan to climb the 294 stairs of the Bunker Hill Monument it is better to do it on a day that isn't hot/humid. They sell water bottles across the street at the museum.

Another nice place not mentioned yet if you want something with history and indoors is the Prudential Center Skywalk - you can learn a lot about the Boston area history thru the audio tour and see a bunch of sites in the distance. I thought my dd10 at the time would enjoy it for about 1/2 an hour but we stayed there over 3.5 hours. The Old State House Museum and Old South Meeting House are interesting and don't take up that much time.
