Is there a way to test this without actually borrowing the points? Like make a booking but not confirm at the very end? Not planning to borrow but I'm curious if I would still get glitched lol

Yes. You can get all the way through without confirming. I am out and about or would try.

Both my hubs and I got the email this morning and my hubs (who never does any of the planning) forwards the email to me and goes...what's the big deal ? Lol

If it were intentional, I would think it would affect all resale members, not just some. Like the old saying goes, "Never attribute malice to that which can be more easily explained by incompetence."

The fact that they haven’t fixed it in 2 years despite numerous updates is intentional.

I added one more day to my 9 night reservation for February for OKW to make it 10 nights.
I only needed to to borrow a few points but refused to buy the OTU points and "just" took the 9 nights.
As soon as I saw the email yesterday, I booked the 10th night.

However, I am sure I'm in the minority but I didn't mind so much having the restriction. It kept me in check.
I am ALWAYS borrowing and this at least kept half my points in my next UY LOL

If 2020 taught us anything, it's always borrow, never bank.

I think OTU points at $19 a point is a steal. They’re selling on the rental market for $20-$22 right now.

I used to get the dwarves without fail on this one over the course of the 50% restriction, so pleasantly surprised. So far 2/2 on borrowing from my resale contracts this month! Haven’t tried borrowing on the direct ones yet, please don’t let Disney IT have mucked up those ones instead.

Good to know and it definitely supports that there was some major programming issue in the system that caused the issue.

I know many of us wished they would have found a way to fix it…and maybe they had tried..but it wasn’t worth what would have to be done.

*Borrowing update from my two resale only contracts-

In the past week, I have made multiple reservations to test the previous borrowing glitch (did so without confirming the last step) and so far, NO dwarves on my desktop/laptop using chrome browser with cleared cookies/etc. And I used to ONLY get dwarves since 2020 so this feels like I’m almost a real member!

I am still getting the borrowing glitch on my resale contract - is anyone else still having problems?

I have one resale and one direct contract. I can borrow on the direct, but not the resale one. I have tried clearing cookies and tried on Safari, Firefox, and Chrome, but nothing seems to work. Very frustrating!

Note for me personally, the issue only happen under the following condition for any of my 2 contracts:

• 2nd time online borrowing of any resale contracts of any certain user year

eg:

• 1st time online borrowing from contract A 2022 user year would be successful
• 2nd time online borrowing from contract A 2022 user year would fail
• 1st time online borrowing from contract A 2023 user year would be successful (even if you have already borrowed from 2022 or any other user year)

Tried today, and 2nd time online borrowing from contract A 2023 user year resulted in seven dwarf

Apparently, Disney pouring in a couple million points (or more) worth of availability at VGF2 helped with the points glut.

Agree with this. They didn't need to bring all of them in but it certainly helped soak up a LOT of points. I am sure it also helps existing members want to try and buy the new(ish) product.

I also agree with the few that found the restrictions beneficial. It kept me in check from going overboard. I would have loved to know how many points were pushed forward in 2020/2021, I know there were some articles on guesses. I do agree that early on it seemed silly to have restrictions if people did want to travel during COVID. The fact that we booked a week at BCV on a Wednesday for a Sat to Sunday stay was WONDERFUL. Hopefully, that will never happen again.

Yes. I used to have your same problem before.

Always worked on 1st borrowing of resale contracts. Never worked on subsequent.

Since restriction lifted, it’s been fine.

So in your latest testing, your first borrow was after or before the restriction was lifted?
