Borrowing question. Pretty sure we can't do this..

Hi everyone. We have a Dec UY. We are currently in a state of borrowing We have 168 points left in our 2010 UY. We were thinking of a possible August trip but don't want to mess up our Feb 2011 trip,so... How soon can I borrow my 2011 points? Do we have to wait until Dec 2010? I don't want to wait that long to book a Feb 2011 trip since it's a vacation week for the Northeast. I hope this makes sense to someone. TIA

You do not have to wait until Dec 2010 to borrow the 2011 points but they can only be borrowed for reservations beginning after Dec 1 2010.

So, you can book your Feb 2011 reservation in March of 2010 and borrow points. However, in order for them to not use the remaining 2010 points you should book the August trip borrowing the 2010 points to use them before booking the Feb 2011. Otherwise MS will insist they be used before they will borrow from the next UY.

The ability to borrow is not based on when you call. It's determined by the date of the stay itself.
