Borrowing Points

Ok, I know you can borrow points from the future use year; but how do you actually do that. I know how to bank points... but I'm planning a trip for November and need more points for the room we want.

When I book the room I want, will they ask if I want to borrow points from the next year (since it will be obvious I don't have enough points)...or is there someplace online I'm supposed to indicated I want to borrow points (similar to how I already bank points)?

As we have never borrowed points, I'm really not sure how I do this.

Yes, if you call and don't have enough points they will ask if you want to borrow. Online there is a box you can check.

Borrowing is different than banking because when you "bank" you are simply pushing the unused current UY points into the next year to use them for a future vacation.

In borrowing, you only borrow when you are actually booking a reservation and you are short on points from your current year. If you call, the MS rep will ask you if you want to borrow and then give you the "schpeel" about borrowing rules, etc, etc, etc.

You can't just call MS and tell them you want to borrow 100 points from 2014 into 2013 because you are planning on making a reservation at sometime in the future.
