Borrowing Points Question?

We are planning our first trip back (since becoming DVC members) for next October (2005) and it looks like we will need to borrow some points from the 2006 UY in order to complete our reservation.

Our plans are to book a 1BR @ SSR 11 months out, then possibly switch to OKW or BWV (Standard) at 7 months (if available). We will have to borrow points no matter what. More points are required to stay @ SSR. We will need the following points:

260 @ SSR
226 @ OKW

We would need 36 more points to stay at SSR. My question is this. Once we make our reservation at SSR and agree to borrow points, what would happen to those 36 extra points should we switch to OKW?

Once borrowed, points cannot be moved back into their original use year so those 36 points remain there.

When you switch the reservation, make certain they use the borrowed points for OKW and not leave them in your account. Then you can simply bank 36 of your regular 2005 points into 2006 and you're all set.

Just remember that those banked points could not be banked again into 2007 but would need to be used in 2006.
