Borrowing from the neighbors

Yup! One neighbor and I lend tables and chairs to each other on holidays. I have borrowed a table cloth, she loves my huge wilton armatele salad bowl. We groan when we both are hosting a holiday because we cannot lend stuff to each other - lol We've dragged our grill and patio set over there when they had a summer party too :)

Yep!

On occasion, especially if I'm baking and I'm missing one thing, I might ask to borrow something. (One time I was low on peanut butter for some cookies.) But for the most part, not so very much.

BUT -- I do have a very large shed in my back yard. My neighbors actually co-use my shed because they don't have one. They keep their lawn mower and one of those little motor bikes -- out of the rain.

We watch each other's doggies on occasion if one of us is gone for a while from the home. We have each others' house keys - just in case.

For the most part we do not know our neighbors and don't care to. If any of them needed anything we would give it to them if we had it. We would never ask to borrow something. We live in a place that neighbors and their children are rarely seen and we like it that way.

I've borrowed an occasionally cup of milk or sugar with my neighbors....probably some yard tools and shared a picnic table. The kids all "share" one another's play sets up and down the backyards....

.......mostly what we share are fun gossip and drinks! We actually would like to move to a bigger house...but we won't because we like our neighbors so much.

:thumbsup2 We love our neighbors too! Many of them are related as people don't like to leave and when kids grow up they often move back into their own house. I've noticed a few houses don't even go on the market here b/c they are sold to another neighbor's family member. It's so nice having neighbors that are fun!

My parents are not so lucky. They don't even have a neighbor to take in mail or water flowers when away like I do.:flower3:

But they could easily pay someone to do these things! We have a fantastic petsitter who's happy to also do minor things like pull out our trash can on garbage day and etc. :thumbsup2

We used to do that in our old neighborhood and even in the early days in this neighborhood.

Right now I don't have any neighbors that are interested in being friendly. I miss the three families that moved! They've all been thousands of miles away for three to five years and I talk to them more than I do my neighbors!
Heck, I talk to the people in my old neighborhood (from 13 years ago) more than I do my current neighbors!
