Borrowing and Use Year ? Cruise Placeholder

2017 we plan to take a cruise to Alaska - can we use 2017 year points and borrow from 2018?

Also we participated in the cruise placeholder on our recent cruise. Is it true you only have 7 days to use it if you choose to use DVC Points.

If the cruise is in your 2017 UY, you can borrow from your 2018 UY.

Used to be you had to call within 3 days.

If you call MS after a cruise to book a future cruise, you will only get a reduction in the number of points needed (approx. 10%). You will not get any OBC for use during that future cruise.
