Hi everyone,

I know different people are being told different things right now about what is happening with points that had been borrowed but wanted to see if anyone had been told what I just was

I just cancelled a trip for November 2020 that had been made with a mix of banked December 2018 and borrowed December 2020 points. The DVC rep who cancelled the trip told me that the borrowed 2020 points would be put back into the 2020 use year on November 1 since the trip had been scheduled for November. Has anyone heard this yet, and how much should I trust that this will actually happen?

We are AUG UY and yes, our 2020 points from a cancelled May trip were put back to our 2020 year. I had to call MS today because 36 points were left behind for some reason. They unborrowed them on the spot today. So keep an eye on your points in your account. They should unborrow within 7-14 days. If they don't, call back. Your 2019 points will be use or lose.

I have had borrowed points returned and have some now that should be put back in the next week..according to DVC.

Sounds like maybe I should call back. She said the points would show in my 2019 use year until November and then they would get transferred. That would mean I couldn’t book anything with them for 2021 until November which doesn’t sound right.

I have had mixed experiences in reworking our reservations. When I canceled April’s reservation in March they did not unborrow the points until 2 weeks after the trip would have taken place. I was told that would be the case when I checked back after it had been a couple weeks from when I canceled. Some MS people were going that route. I actually ended up sending an email two weeks after the canceled trip as the points had not been moved and they did it at that time. I had one MS immediately unborrow for a June trip I rescheduled. I recently rescheduled a July trip and MS told me every couple weeks on Thursday’s they do a big sweep and unborrow. So, depends who you talk to but they are definitely still doing it. Just keep an eye and send an email if necessary. It seems they do like to wait until after the trip didn’t happen if you are far enough out.

I was also told by MS today (a very nice lady who seemed well trained) that unborrowing happened on Thursdays. She was going to ask me to wait until I pointed out to her that I has canceled more than two weeks ago, and on Thursday June 25th the majority of my points were unborrowed, BUT 36 points were left in 2019 for some reason. She put me on hold to talk to her supervisor, and when she came back - they had moved my 36 points right then and there. So their Thursday process seems to be a "thing", but (just saying) sometimes things don't work as planned. Keep YOUR eyes on YOUR points. Best of luck everyone. Here's to 2021 at Disney for us.
