We borrowed points from our 2010 use year to use this November 2009. If we do not take this trip, when will these points expire, is it December 31st 2009 or 2010?

Those 2010 borrowed points will expire the day before your 2010 use year begins. For example, if you have a March use year, the points would expire on February 28, 2010.

If you have a December use year (sounds like you may), then the borrowed points expire on December 1, 2009. The last night they can be used is November 30, 2009.

Use years always begin on the 1st of the month.

If you had a February use year and borrowed 2010 points for the November 2009 trip, then the borrowed points would expire on February 1, 2010. Last night they could be used would be January 31, 2010

So, borrowed points can't be banked or put back into their use year if you cancel? Sorry if this is a dumb question!

So, my use year is August. So if I borrowed points from August 2010 and I don't use them I have to use them by July 31st of 2010. Now, would I have to bank those points, or do those go into a seperate area?

Lets give this a try.

If you borrow points from 2010 they are now 2009 points and they expire with your other 2009 points. The can not be banked or put back.

If you bank you 2009 points into 2010, they are now 2010 points that expire just like your other unused 2010 points.

Points can only be banked or borrowed once, and banking and borrowing are final transactions.

2010 August UY. You brought some of those points into your 2009 UY. The points that you borrowed into your 2009 UY will expire July 21, 2010. You can't bank them.
