Borowing Timeline

At what point do I need to declare that I am borrowing points from next year's supply? Does it happen at the time of booking? Check in?

you only borrow pts when needed to make a reservation (when booking).

once you borrow the pts, they cannot be put back into their original UY.

So I'm forced to borrow at say my 11 month window? If I then cancel my trip because 11 months is a long time I have to then utilize these points before the end of UY?

Banking and borrowing lock points into the use year they are moved to and will expire at the end of that use year. If you have another vacation in that year, that has not passed, then you can swap borrowed points for current points so you can bank the current points.
