Hey! I recently visited the Magic Kingdom and completed the Quests. When I returned my cards to VMK Central on Main Street, I asked how to register my user name so I could receive the Born in the Park badge. The Cast Member had no idea what I was talking about. It was around 8 PM, and no one else was working there who could answer my question. I thought I could register my name and I would get other goodies as well (besides the badge) like a penny press, etc. Has this practice been discontinued, or do I have my facts wrong? I sent an email from the VMK Home Page asking about this, but I have yet to receive and answer, despite the pledge to respond within 24 hours. I was so disappointed, as I won't be returning to Disney World until next year.

Thanks for any info you can provide.

All you need to do is register a name while you are at VMK central at the Magic Kingdom. You can't do anything about a previously created character. There are 4 or 5 terminals at VMK central to register from.

My son got the card with a code for the penny press and a virtual pin from purchasing a real pin from Frontier Trading post and real candy at Prairie Outpost and Supply.

We met a man who was on a quest for these codes and he explained VMK to us. So we went with him and bought a pin and gobstoppers to get the cards with the codes.

I believe you can only get born in park from creating a new character. It implies that the character you play was created at a park, not that you visited there. :)

VIP comes from the quests though, you should have been able to at least get that badge.

I'm jealous you were even able to go!

Thanks to everyone who responded. I guess the e-mail that I sent from the VMK Home Page worked, because my Born In Park badge appeared the other day!

i am going down really soon and i am planning on doing all the quests tours and stuff
But i do have a question
1) is there an age requirement to go on the tours alone? I want to go just my little brother and me on the tour (the parent's aren't into vmk) and i want to make sure there won't be any trouble if i just want to go with my brother
2) can you make two charachters on one email? Because i already have a charachter but i want all the born in park goodies!
Thanks In Advance :maleficen :maleficen

Disney doesn't usually like people under the age of 16 doing stuff by themselves. I remember trying to be in the Parade of the Stars on a trip with friends and they wouldn't let us be in the parade as none of us were 16 or had a someone over 18 let us go. BTW, the parents should come along even if they're not into VMK. It's an extra chance for you to get stuff and remind them that you get backdoored onto 3 rides while on the tour! :)

Also you need different birthday/e-mail combinations to make accounts. Set up a bunch of mule e-mail accounts before you leave home and write them down so you make make a bunch of mule VMK accounts at the parks! ;) That's what I should have done! :p

hmm i don't know if i can talk them into it but i will try
what three rides do you get backdoored on?

Thanks so much for the info!

You get back doored on: Jungle cruise, Big Thunder Mtn RR, and Haunted Mansion with a possible train ride thrown in. And of course some time to play on the computers at innoventions.
Enjoy your trip!
