Border ID requirements

So I think that this is the proper documents we need to cross the border by car: birth certificate and photo ID?? right
But when we are flying US city to US city... what ID do we need??

When flying from Buffalo to Orlando, before I got my passport (which I now show as ID), I seem to recall just showing my drivers license as ID when going through security.

No passports are required on domestic flights in the U.S.

Just driver's license for adults and birth certificate for the kids.

AS long as you can get across the border without a passport... keep in mind, when that changes (January 2008?) you'll need a passport for the car travel portion of your trip.
