Just curious of ways to bring down alcohol from Michigan to Florida when we will be flying down. Any suggestions will be helpful!!! :drinking1

My mom and I usually pack a whole bar when we go on vacation to avoid paying such high prices!!

In the "old days" I would pack my carry on bag with champagne, flasks, Gran Marnier, brandy - but *sigh, no longer...

One year I just packed it all in towels, bubble wrap, and zip lock bags!! (nothing broke - it was great! Problem was we didnt drink it all!! :rotfl2: so I shipped it back!! :rotfl2:) and took it to UPS and shipped it to our resort - it was there when we checked in!

but now dh says we arent allowed to ship alcohol! :confused3 So I signed up to have wegoshop (marge at wegoshop.com) buy our stash! And I know that the prices at Hess Gas station (a very short walk across the parking lot from DTD) are better than park prices!!

Good Luck!!

We bring a bottle of 'Fairytale Cuvee' Champagne home from Florida to North Dakota every year. We just pack it in some bags and pad it with sweatshirts and clothes. It has never been an issue on the plane, however, we cross our fingers each time. Is that what you mean?
My sister-in-law brought homemade 'Red Eye' (which is liquor drink) to The Caribbean Beach Resort for our wedding and we drank it at the pool there. She packed it the same only put it in a plastic bottle and labeled it with all of the ingredients (in case it got searched at the airport).
If nothing else, they sell wines, beers, and all sorts of liquors at the Disney hotel shops (for a larger fee of course, but not TOO terrible).
Hope that Helps!

I managed to get 6 bottles of tequila back from Mexico to Boston in my checked luggage. Same as PPs I wrapped in clothes for padding and used big ziplocs just in case. Even though Jet Blue trashed my suitcase (sliced a whole side open) the bottles inside were safe and sound! :thumbsup2

One tip if you decide to buy your liquor near WDW - steer clear of the Goodings at the Crossroads!! It may be the most convenient, but the prices are OUTRAGEOUS. Better to drive another mile or so up the road to the market and save yourself a LOT of $$.

I never gave thought about bringing plastic fifth containers.:confused3 But thank you for everyone's replies!!!
