Is a booster seat required in Florida? If so, does Tiffany towncar supply them?

No ~ Florida Law reads:..

"What is Florida's Child Restraint Law?

All children 5 years of age or younger must be properly restrained no matter where they are sitting in the vehicle. Children through age 3 must be secured in a separate carrier or a vehicle manufacturer's integrated child safety seat. For children aged 4 through 5 years, a separate carrier, an integrated child safety seat, or a safety belt may be used. (FL Statute 316.613)."

and

YES, TTC will provide a booster seat for your child free of charge. Be sure and request one prior to your trip as not every car has one.

Were they a booster that you still use the shoulder seatbelt with? Highback or low back (with TTC specifically)? Thanks!

Yes - by booster they mean the type that uses the car's shoulder/lap belt. TTC offered us a low backed booster, it was a brand new Graco!

eta - make sure and request it! I noticed some of the drivers had one in the trunk when we put away the groceries but others did not. I have always had one when requesting in advance.

Thanks for all the help. Even though it's not "the law", I will still be sure to request one. DS is able to see out the window a lot better sitting in one. We use a "high back booster" seat here at home. HOpefully they'll have one too!

Thanks so much TJ - Yep, I did request one. My dd is still pretty small at 7.5 years old. She is only about 48 # :p I feel better if she is in a booster still!

my four year old nephew who weighs 65 lbs and is taller than most first graders will be ok with just a seat belt?

TIA!!
:sunny:

I thought I thought this thru - but now I'm wondering.

My 4 yo grandson is joining us. We are not bringing his booster he uses at home - cuz apparently it's not "airport" approved. However, we are getting a free booster from our towncar company.

Now my problem (might) be - we're going to Universal one day and were planning on taking a cab/van. I'm sure they don't provide boosters (?)
